A new batch of DSiware games/applacation software was announced this morning, since I know none of you cared when I posted this last time, I just post the links to the info instead.

Go here or here.

EDIT: Fryguy's comment has made me happy again, here is the full info.

All of these go on sale on January 28. So far all of the DSiWare games have been developed by Nintendo.

200 DSiWare Points

Solitaire DSi - Spider and Klondike games of Solitaire with cat cards.

Nintendo DSi Clock
- It’s a clock for your DSi. This application has an alarm and vacation time features. Nintendo mentions a “clock series” so the Photo Stand Type, a DSi clock that cycles through photos, sounds like it’s going to be the first of many DSi Clocks.

500 DSiWare Points

Hobonichi Rosenzu - Portable subway map software with an integrated notepad. You can write messages and leave photos to remind you of landmarks on the map. (reminds me of TLoZ:PH map feature, except it's in the real world).

Art Style Series: Somnium - A brainteasing puzzle game where you match balls and cells of the same color.

Art Style Series: PicoPict - Sort of like Tetris mixed with Picross. Blocks fall from the sky missing one or two pixels. You have to take the squares on the ground and place them in the path of falling blocks to make them whole. Completed pieces make up 8-bit sprites of Mario and other NES icons. (probably one of the most interesting games because of the forming of NES Nintendo characters when you play).

Look! Isn't that a Wrecking Crew reference?

Chotto Panel de Pon - A stripped down version of Planet Puzzle League with less skins and no online play. This version still has multiple modes like endless mode, score attack, stage clear, and Vs. CPU.

Chotto Suujin Taisen - A stripped down version of Suujin Taisen. This game supports online play over Nintendo Wi-Fi.

Chotto Asobi Taizen Jikkuri Trump - A package of popular card games from Clubhouse Games. Blackjack, Page One, American Page One, Daifugou, and Poker.

I've had this idea for a DSiWare. Well YoungLink and I just came up with this:

A Nintendo scene builder much like the little extra in Brawl with the trophies in the 'Hoard. Except way improved and with more features and backgrounds. And more characters and objects that weren't trophies in Brawl.

Yeah, it's open to interpretation from here on out now.

The PicoPict has many NES cameos from what I can tell. As you clear the falling blocks, the pixellated characters on the top screen are slowly filled in. The video that was posted includes quite a lot of characters!

Gotta love ArtStyle! I'm still enjoying Orbient ;)

Yeah, it's also a fan idea and should be in the fan forum... not this one... :P

More footage of AS: PiCOPiCT and Somnium as well as some impressions and videos of the other other games.

Some notes on AS: PiCOPiCT

- Both AS games are made by Skip Ltd.
- When playing AS:P the music starts off quite basic and then gets put together (like the sprite on the top screen) and begins sounding more like the original tune.
- The music was actually remixed by 8bit group YMCK.
- You earn coins for beating stages when can be used to buy music or other stages in the game.

@ BDi sorry I forgot I was going to respond to this as well.

It's a pretty interesting idea, makes me wonder how much more depth could be added to it.

I'm not sure what it is you're trying to imply with the quoting in the end.

European Launch confirmed! And we're getting it BEFORE THE US!
Launching on April 3rd, for about Ł150, in black or white but not blue.

Oh, and Australia are getting it on April 2nd, if I remember right.

I think after all the crap the UK and Australia have to put up with in lengthy game releases, we can let the DSi slide just this once.

Just don't get used to it, kay? ;D

Next batch of DSi Ware annouced!

Including the first 3rd party DSi Ware game!

200 DSiWare Points

Nintendo DSi Calculator

A simple calculator with built in unit conversions: feet to kilometers, grams to pounds, Celsius to Fahrenheit and… Kelvin! Comes in two styles Famicom (NES SMB) Mario and Animal Crossing (with Tom Nook!). Yes, these are sold separately.

[image] [image]

Mojipittan Shiritori Clock

A dictionary clock with Mojipittan characters.

[image] [image]

500 DSiWare Points

Art Style Series: Nalaku

In this puzzle game you step and climb on cubes to change their color. More blocks fall from the sky. Players have to dodge them and avoid on standing on shaky ground when the floors fall apart.

[image] [image]

Art Style Series: Hacolife

Another puzzle game that involves blocks. Instead of dodging them you make them in Hacolife by cutting a sheet of six squares on a grid and folding them into a cube. (personally I find that to be a pretty original idea).

[image] [image]

Chotto Asobi Taizen: Onajimi Table

A bite sized collection of Clubhouse Games including: Reversi, Hasami Shogi, Go, Shogi, and Hanafuda.

[image] [image] [image]

Chotto Bungaku Zenshu: Sekai no Bungaku 20

A bite sized version of Bungaku Zenshu (aka 100 Classic Book Collection in Europe) with twenty books.

(Isn't that a cameo of the black cat from the Wii News and Photo Channels in the below image?)

800 DSiWare Points

Ide Yousuke’s Healthy Mahjong DSi

Based on the WiiWare game of the same name, this portable mahjong game coaches players with tips from famous Mahjong player Ide Yousuke. The Nintendo DSi version also includes multiplayer: local, over Nintendo Wi-Fi, and against people playing the same game on a Wii. You can even use your Mii on the DS in this game.

[image] [image]

Mr. Driller

Essentially a “chotto” version of Mr. Driller Drill Spirits which Namco Bandai released a long time ago. This version has three modes: Mission, Time Attack, and Driston which was cut from the US version.

[image] [image] [image]

Source.

EDIT:
There is an Iwata Asks about the DSi and it mentions how the DSi originally had 2 DS card slots instead of 1.

What's odd about that is, I remember their was a mention about the DSi having a GBA slot but it was removed for being 3mm too big but this says that the 2nd DS slot made it 3mm too big, so was that a translation error or did they just lie and say that in the Iwata Asks english translation?

I think that would've been a would feature - to have two DS game slots. There are many possibilities like trading Pokemon with yourself or transferring game/Wi-Fi data, but still...

And Iwata wasn't lying when he said there could be downloadable maps or clocks and calculators! But why would I want to pay for a clock? Isn't there one built-in?

By the way, any news on this free browser for the DSi? Does it have Flash and sound? That was a major limitation for the original DS browser, especially when compared to the Wii which had Flash 7 (which absolutely sucks since they're on 10 now.)

Wait what? No white DSi for the US? Baaaaaaaaaah.....

First they discontinue the white DS Lite in favor of that ugly silver one, and now this? Damn you Nintendo....

I beilive it does have the built in clock, it's just that DSi Ware clock was a special one that also displayed photos at the same time (I think).

I don't know about the browser running flash but it works a heck of a lot faster!

Watch the video for proof!
