Sorry to double post/bump, but I didn't want to clutter up my previous post with more images. I'm not convinced of this one in the least, but it was on the Smash Wiki (Horrid wiki that it is) so I figured it was worth pointing out: Nav-Com, StarTropics Blue ROB The Wiki also says it looks like the N64 color scheme, but I see that one even less. Greil, Ike's father. Only picture I could find, it's even his sticker in Brawl: Ike's yellow costume They also say that Ike's white costume (Sigurd) looks like his third class Vanguard class. Anybody with more FE knowledge care to weigh in on this? 2P Diddy from DKC2. Savage Adam brought this up a few pages ago: One last weird one for the road: "One of Ike's costumes resembles the civilian clothing of G Gundam main characater Domon Kasshu." It is convincing, ain't it?

The only one there that I'd put any stock into at all is 2P Diddy Kong.
The ROB/Nav-Com just isn't close or convincing enough (and why wouldn't it have the "ROB" name on it rather than "Family Computer Robot"?) And that's definitely not the N64 colour scheme. Hell, it's not even the Gamecube colour scheme!
The Greil/Ike one is a joke - they're totally different!
As for Ike and a G Gundam character? That's not even a Nintendo cameo! Although I do admit the resemblance there is uncanny. It COULD be intentional! Who knows if Sakurai loves G Gundam?

It could be. I mean, we have Star Wars-esque lightsabers and Dragonball Z-esque capsules as items, right?

Not to mention Ness wearing a baseball team's actual uniform.

I don't see Greil either, but having not played any FE games, I thought maybe it's just hthe picture because there is an ever so slight resemblence. Yeah, i put in the G Gundam to be funny. It does look like it, don't it? And Flip is right, Ness has a baseball uniform, so it's not like there isn't any pop-culture references in Smash.

Now to bump this with a possible insight to Marth's white armor. Unsure if this has been brought up before but... not just a reference to Leaf? The Fire Emblem anime has nods in the Smash games, the choice of color for Marth's armor and the voice actor returning to do new lines (not the only character but yeah). I can't see why this isn't a possibility. Makes more sense than a FE5 reference only.

I have heard that the white armour was his anime costumed, but had never seen a picture untill now. Awesome.

It's only in artwork. In the anime he wears dark blue armor, which was used in Melee/Brawl and an artwork piece that seems to be from the anime, and is a sticker in Brawl.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Ganondorf's last color is the one from Melee.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Ganondorf's last color is the one from Melee. Doesn't anyone bother reading the first post anymore? Yeah, it's been mentioned Smashchu. It's also his OoT costume complete with cape. On a side note, why did two Fire Emblem games get translated names (Shadow Dragon & The Sword of Light, the first game, and The Binding Blade, which was Roy's game if I'm not mistaken) but Monsho no Nazo get stuck with a Japanese name?

You forgot to add that the Dark Blue Squirtle is a reference to Wartortle. Red shelled Squirtle is Blastoise. Green Bulbed Ivysaur is Bulbasaur. Pink Bulbed Ivysaur is Venusaur. Dark red Charizard is Charmeleon. Light Orange Charizard is Charmander.

Ganondorf's only costume; it's inbetween Sheik and Toon Link. I'm not terribly convinced of those. I'll double check them. The only one I can think might be a reference is Red Charazard, as Charmeleon's color has remained fairly constant throughout official art. Light Orange Charazard is to light, and is roughly the color of Charazard's original sprite. Check the last page for the sprites.

Qu, it's from the game but it is a different look than the main artwork piece. Previously shown on this topic. Sheeda has three artwork pieces, one's from the anime and the other's her game art. It's all put in one file on Gamehiker because the OAV's based on the FE3 version of the first game story.
