I honestly can't see what the problem is of having two DKs with one being a descendant of the other. If we can have ten million Links descending from one another in a manner that's impossible to figure out, why is having two DKs such a problem? Well, with Zelda it's different. Zelda games of this decade reference back previous Links and eras of Hyrule because time matters very much within the story of the game. That doesn't happen with Donkey Kong and that's why these facts often rely on explanations by manuals, crossovers (like Brawl), Nintendo workers and websites. There's a sense of "dynasty" in Zelda which I haven't found in the Donkey Kong universe (maybe only in the cartoon of the 90s).

@ Tv Eye: You just gave me the greatest laugh I've had in a long while. Thanks. But... I was serious!

This controversy is as confusing as this. (WARNING: NSFW) Misinformation on my part then. I'm not sure where I was told that he was ever called Stanley in Greenhouse. Still, fumigator is just a a job description, not a name. Kinda like "Jumpman". In this commercial, the Green House protagonist was referred to as "Stanley". Ah! I remember that commercial. I think that's where I got that from.

The thing with Zelda didn't really start until OoT rolled around, and that was after DKC was released., and you seem to have forgotten that Cranky himself constantly refers to being the original DK and calling the current DK his son or grandson. So that point is pretty much shot down. ..and of course there's no "dynasty" in DK. There's only been two generations of him, and each game in his series doesn't take place hundreds of years apart.

We love Kongtroversy and arguing. It was proven there's so many links, but DK just has material to debate over.

Current DK is the son of the second DKjr that appears in DKjr math.

1.You could use Google to translate. 2.You could look at the pictures. 3.You could read the short explanation I provided right under the link.

I believe that DK is the same DK from DK Jr/Super Mario Kart and that grandson business is a typo (DK being Cranky's 'grand son').
As for the whole different Zeldas/Links thing, the only thing I do know is that it gives me a headache thinking about it (along with figuring out the chronological order of all the Zelda games).

Perhaps Nintendo will remake the Donkey Kong Country games in several more years to help show the power of the next home console's graphics chip. I love how this came from nowhere. Mmm... perhaps. Perhaps Nintendo will also buy the rights to the Nintendo Database and rejig it into a series of lego sets based on the former forum's most exciting moments (like that time flamedude said something, the time TvEye todded something, and the time a bunch of people on here were colossal dicks). Perhaps.

Perhaps. Misty watercolour memorieeeeees, of the way we weeerrrree! I think the point was maybe Nintendo will redo the games and in doing so try and fix some of the problems introduced by Rare's handling of the character-relations along the way. I'd be surprised (but a remake of Donkey Kong Country using proper 3D graphics would be quite awesome actually!)

That's really astonishing. This has been the most awesome explanation about the Donkey Controversy I have ever heard. Some are actually quite funny, then in some I see some accuracy, and truth behind them. Its awesome. Lol

Uh... sure. Whatever you say pal. We love Kongtroversy and arguing. It was proven there's so many links, but DK just has material to debate over. There is no debate. Stop making me repeat myself. That's completely asinine.

There's no use of a forum if there's no debate and people repeat themselves.
