Would of been better if it was Street Fighter VS. Virtua Fighter, because they are both like founders of their kind of fighting genres. Tekken is probably like Breakers Revenge or Fighter's History Dynamite in 3D.

No To be honest when I think Tekken I think Tekken 3 which I played against my brother a shitload of times in the past and is still good fun today. I borrowed a PSP version (Tekken 5?) from a friend some time ago and it didn't impress me at all. Though maybe it's because it was on a handheld. Oh and the correct Crazy Tekken guy is Dr. Boskonovitch. Farting paralyzed geezer was just as annoying to fight against as that stretching bastard.

I hope this is more than just Tekken vs. Street Fighter. I mean, the title says Capcom vs. Namco, so it should have characters besides the ones from Tekken and Street Fighter.

Chill out, Dino. Anger is unhealthy.
Tekken, Fighter's History and Breakers have two things in common: they were influenced by the founders, while trying to be better.
Let's stay on topic:

Bleh, Just Street Fighter VS Tekken. I like and has always liked the SF games but beside from my favorites, Chun-Li, Cammy, Ibuki and Ryu, I otherwise never had much interest in the series characters. Tekken on the other hand gets nothing from me, always disliked that series and never saw the appeal of it.
Changing the name of the thread now.

I agree with you superpoppybros, Tekken is pretty overrated. I prefer VF myself > Tekken. I think it's simply a more rewarding gaming experience and I feel like I have to really work to get the best out of it. Tekken, or indeed, SoulCalibur on the otherhand, offer very good results without having to try at the game (i.e. button mashing CAN and usually will work).
Now, it's important to understand that 2D fighters and 3D fighters are from different eras really, and as such, the gamer had/has changed somewhat over the years. In the case of the more modern 3D fighter, the casual gamer today wants optimum results from a fighting game (a genre not taken as seriously today from the wider audience) whilst putting little effort in. As such, Soul Calibur (especially) fits this role perfectly. It allows people to feel powerful, skilled and good about themselves whilst putting minimum effort in! 'These' people actually believe that they are good at the game too(!). VF on the other hand (aside Lei Fei) doesn't really accommodate this kind of behavior, and as such, when the 'majority' play VF, it punishes this mentality, in turn 'telling' them that they suck at VF, in turn making them hate it. Thus the majority today now prefer Tekken & Soul Calibur.

Well, here are some first direct-feed screenshots.(Chun-Li and Nina can be seen) www.gamingeverything.com/2010/7/first_directfeed_screenshots_of_street_fighter_x_tekkenAnd details. www.gamingeverything.com/2010/7/street_fighter_x_tekken_details"- Capcom has also worked with Namco Bandai on Gundam games, which partially contributed to this project - Yoshinori Ono/his staff shared the idea with CEO Haruhiro Tsujimoto Tsujimoto and Keiji Inafune, Inafune said they should meet with Namco; no hurdles at all, even at the top levels - Chun-Li, Ryu, Kazuya and Nina will be in the game, also considering about putting in early gen characters from each franchise - Most likely 2 on 2 gameplay - 8-way level, 6 button input won’t change - Thinking of including an “assist” feature: Sort of like the iPhone version of SSIV (lets players feel like they can do tough moves) - Want to release the game two years after the announcement - Next major announcement most likely at next year’s Captivate - Was announced early because Capcom wanted to do something for their fans - Street Fighter x Tekken most likely coming out first - Both versions separate, not sharing information, own designs being made as well as gameplay - “We’d like to challenge one-another in all areas, including sales, and get fans of both series excited” Thats all from me, I'am out. Call me when Cammy or Ibuki is confirmed. Just so I can see them.

- Chun-Li, Ryu, Kazuya and Nina will be in the game, also considering about putting in early gen characters from each franchise This is cool. I can totally see them add a forgotten SF1 dude to the roster.. or the boxing dinosaur - “We’d like to challenge one-another in all areas, including sales, and get fans of both series excited” So it's basically a friendly popularity contest between the two companies. If that video is any indication ( GO RYU) I think I know who'll 'win'.

Quick question about Gon, the boxing dinosaur. Was he always an actual Tekken character or was he simply a 'original' video game character by Namco? I always been confused about this.

Gon's actually from a silent comic who made a guest appearance in Tekken 3 because... he's awesome? Anyway I'm pretty sure Namco doesn't hold the rights to the character so I doubt he'll pop up for this crossover...

Bleh, Just Street Fighter VS Tekken. I respect and has always respectTekken on the other hand gets nothing from me, always disliked that series and never saw the appeal of it. Tekken is to fighting games what Ridge Racer is to racing games. It's just good ol' arcadey fun.

The titles are Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter. Oh, sorry. I made that post when the thread title used to say Capcom vs. Namco. Good to know that this is nothing more than Tekken vs. Street Fighter.
