It's another one of those cases where "something awesome is discovered in a game years after it was released" things, someone on NeoGAF revealed a code that allows for a "bored commentator in Wave Race: Blue Storm. It's like someone got the commentator from WR64 and turned him up to 11 and then bored the shit out of him. You have chosen poorlySome of the quotes are awesome, it also make a little girl sound off whenever a turbo is used. How does one activate this wonderful easter egg? (Copy/pasta from GAF) OK, boot up Wave Race: Blue Storm.
Go to Options and Audio Settings.
There’s a waveform display at the bottom that changes if you press the Z Button—tap Z until the waveform looks like vertically rising fog.
On the D-Pad, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, X, Z. You’ll hear an audio cue if you did it right.
Back out to the front end.
Start a race. Pick the first guy.

That is just plain awesome! You don't typically expect Nintendo's games to get that sarcastic.

Haha that's awesome alright ;D though that commentator doesn't sound as bored as he sounds pissed at the player. Also I think the girly sound comes from the racer who's normally all YYYYYEAAAH when using a turbo.
On a sidenote I'm still hoping Nintendo'll make a new Waverace this gen.

Haha, that's awesome. Sadly, I don't think I kept hold of the game during an ill-advised games purge around the Wii launch

Heh, I love codes like this that slip by for years before someone uncovers them.
"Oooo, a turbo!" LOL

Hmm, someone should try the code in the Japanese version to see if it does anything.

Sounds really cool.
I have the Japanese version (actually, I kinda regret buying this even though it's very low-priced). I'll try that if I have time.
EDIT - YES, it is indeed in the Japanese version! "You've chosen poorly" and even "Do you want to be a loser for the rest of your life?"... lol, that's one unenthusiastic announcer. (In case you wonder, the voiceover is in English.)

That should have been in the game by default, not as a secret code. Anyway, I have to say that that was the funniest commentary in any game that I've played.
