^ Kinda. I already thought he'd just be going hilariously unserious because WFT's inclusion.
On the other hand, I now then wonder who he'll consider adding then or not. (-´^`-);;

How true could this be? It's been one whole week and it just suddenly came out.

...It's just Sakurai trying to end this awkward question ASAP. Given the situation, I don't think this question is really answered, or is it a suitable question to ask in the first place. Actually, I think that question is indirectly directed at Sakurai, asked in a way that it'd be awkward for him not to answer.
Game journalists should really stop asking Smash Bros. questions outside of relevant interviews. The other teams know nothing about it, and the Smash Bros. team is already busy as is.
It's not like I don't want to know more about it, but really, at this rate, all they do are causing Sakurai and the others inconvenience.

Polygon has a report with Sakurai on character selection; it sounds like some veterans may indeed be getting the ax, although he doesn't really want to do it. Also, he mentions that he will not be doing a lot of writing for the website, which makes me a sad man.

Polygon has a report with Sakurai... Um, please be sure to read previous posts? Anyway, I won't be surprised if they really remove characters. In fact, I won't even be mad or disappointed. If you love Mewtwo so much, go back and play Melee - your old games aren't going anywhere. It's bad to see him not talking as much, but I'm fine with that too. You won't have to wait for more than a year - I'm 120% sure they'll show this (and very possibly make it playable) in E3 2014, and by the end of 2014, the game's out! Yay! And I prefer less info over a stressed Sakurai who thinks he's going to die anytime. It's doing no one any good once he starts talking about his own creation killing him.

Sakurai's just being a drama queen. But the fact he cares so much for it's franchise and their fans means he's THE man for the job (I'll feel really bad for him if he gets whipped into making another damn Smash Bros two years after this one is released however)
I call fake on Johans link. There was a Smash question during the Pokemon QA yeah, but I haven't read anything about Sakurai responding etc until that article. Reporting vague rumours as fact for those juicy site hits.

YL - Whoops! You know, I thought I saw that you did that, but failed to doublecheck. Mistakes, we make them.

Exactly. He says it's stressful but it's not as if he's changing the movesets any. I mean, Mario was given FLUDD but Luigi doesn't get the Poltergust? If he's not using it in this game I will be sorely disappointed. There was a new Luigi's Mansion for crying out loud! And if someone like Mewtwo were to return, he'd need new moves for sure. It also goes without saying that I hate clones. Other fighting games usually have one or two clones but Smash has them by the boatload.

They aren't all that cloney in Brawl anymore though. The special moves and final smashes are pretty similar in execution, but the A-attacks are completely different most of the time.
I do hope they do away with final smash duplicates. They're supposed to be 'powerful and personalized hammers'. Falco going around in a landmaster just ain't right, nevermind Wolf.

Completely agreeing with both Teev and 8bit here. I'm glad to see Pit getting new weapons and Bowser's being completely reworked (though he retains his special moves). I look forward to more changes like those. Luigi's Poltergust definitely should be in the game. Why Mario has FLUDD but not Luigi's Poltergust in Brawl is beyond me, especially since the first version of Poltergust 3000 is completely able to attack. Brawl doesn't really have clones other than Link and Toon Link (if they're including ALttP Link like some say, please include Fire or Ice Rod or any of ALttP's many tools just to set them apart), but very often, special moves are what people really look at. And we don't need Fox, Falco and Wolf to have the same special moves. The worst offender there is Falco's completely out-of-character Landmaster. Speaking of Pit's new moves, the Guardian Orbitars are probably serving as his personalized shield, much like Yoshi's egg. Divinipedia says it's possible for them to replace Mirror Shield.

Well, I doubt Mewtwo will lose Shadow Ball and Teleport and chances are he'll get his signature move, Psystrike, as his Final Smash. If anything, we know that if Lucario's still in SSB4, he and Mewtwo won't share the same basic moves ("A Attacks), even more so the Aura Mechanic Lucario had (is that grammatically correct? It feels off to me). Brawl showed that clone characters were only sharing Special/B attacks and some basic ones. I feel this game will take one step forward.
I wonder how much the developing team will fight to fit the 3DS game onto a game cartridge. Sure, the 3DS has a game card size of up to 8 GB, and who's to say they wouldn't make a new one with more storage specifically for SSB4, but with Sakurai talking about how he's going to have a hard time fitting everything in and how certain things will be cut (due to time constraints), I wonder how it'll affect the console version. Personally, I'd prefer they'd take more time with it, as long as they don't waste time with a "fleshed out" 1P mode. SSE was "fun", but one never really touched again after 2 or 3 sessions with it.
Of course, they could just prove me wrong and I could just come out as a pretentious dick. I guess only time will tell.

kotaku.com/an-in-depth-chat-with-the-genius-behind-super-smash-bro-530744390Kotaku's Jason Schreier speaks with Sakurai about Smash Bros. It's the source of some one the news circulating online, but here's a fuller version of that. Nothing too new, since by now we all know what does Sakurai usually thinks about the series. This particular interview is more serious, without all those "Smash Bros. is killing me" drama.

How much has Sakurai talked anyway? There are so many interview reports that are based on things he said during E3.
Interesting read. Personally, I'm all for it. Sure, I'd like to see whoever I like to take part in Smash Bros., but I far prefer no representation if the alternative is misrepresentation. They've already successfully destroyed certain characters by making them out of character in Brawl, so I definitely won't want to see that happen here.
