But the certain sites do mention that versus mode is included in the downloaded demo versoin!
For the "Nintendo" password, Let me write them down and see for the compatability. (I hop that they're even transferrable through wireless connection, and even play the vs via different language versions of Polarium!)
Something that I made (kinda easy!) - better check for user-made puzzles also! 59601 30173 45305 69582 97755 34940
Now I'm stuck at Puzzle 55 and in Challenge Mode I can never clear more than 260 lines!
I used the strategedy mentioned in the JP Nintendo site (They're described in graphics! How nice!) but cannot score more than 200,000! It really takes me time, unlike WarioWare which I got everything unlocked in 3 days!
I've got puzzled when I go to Lounge section, the 4th option is disabled. What is it for? It's not mentioned in the instruction booklet.
EDIT: I got 270960! Reason: I concentrated myself to "All Clear"s, not chains, boarders, splits, etc. All clears will multiply the score that you get! And I cleared Puzzle 55! My brain is clearer now since it's morning here.
Wow, I'm pleased to report that both your custom puzzle and the three Nintendo Kanji puzzles all worked absolutely fine on my European copy! In fact, I checked all the way through the manual as well, and found a screenshot on page 17 that matched the "Ten" puzzle (sadly the other two are missing).
The fourth option in Lounge is "Credits" - you don't get that until you've completed all 100 puzzles.
Also, reading the manual more carefully, I found a brief passing reference to DS Download Play, so it is possible in the European version.

I finished the puzzles, with 2 of them solved using walkthroughs. I am surprised that only 14 persons (7 at Nintendo and 7 at Mitchell, where the main things are done by Mitchell and Nintendo only did the Artwork and Sound Support, special thanks are not counted) are involved at developing / producing the game.
I hope to play Polarium multiplayer, but the demo version does not have such thing.
The Japanese manual clearly stated that 2 game cards are required to play multiplayer. (I asked somebody to translate )
The European microsite, howver, stated in the Parent Info page (actually an introduction page instead of informations needed by parents) thatonly 1 game card is required for VS, meaning that VS mode is built in the demo version.
I also found a site with all sorts of information of Polarium: takiris.hp.infoseek.co.jp/ (In the puzzle part, highlight the puzzle to reveal the answer. It works fine with FireFox, and I don't know for IE.)
Still, I ended my game between 200 to 300 lines, but instead of clearing lines regularly, I used other methods to clear even more pieces, like the way mentioned here. That's why I can score double now!
I have a question to ask: how to delete custiom puzzles? It's not mentioned in the instruction booklet, and there is no "delete" button.

Sorry to bring an ole topic back, but I found that not all puzzles may not be transferrable from one DS to another if the language versions of the games are different.
This was happened when I failed to insert a code from Puzzle Polari (the site of The Almighty Narf), and found out that the code from his copy of Polarium cannot be applied to mine. When I used the editor to enter the same puzzle, I found that the last 10 digits of the code produced by my DS differs from his.
The code that The Almighty Narf used: 77652 12472 04614 77582 98221 71972
the code produced by my DS: 77652 12472 04614 77582 74775 45683 << These 10 digits are different!
