First off, I ain't going anti-Wii or anti-Nintendo or anti-Iwata or anti-whatever, I'm just expressing my view of the Wii. This doesn't mean I dislike anything in relation of Wii in overall, and this doesn't mean anything about my future decision of doing any Wii-related thing. GOT IT? Yeah? Then, let's go on.
Reasons I don't like Wii: - Simple. It feels like a PlayStation. Either PSP or PS3.
Why is that so? Well, I've a few reasons:
Chanels: I don't reject the Channel idea; what I'm against is that Wii treats the disc channel as ONE CHANNEL, 1/48 of the whole channel space! Is the game I bought with real gold SO insignificant? And you know, as Wii isn't a PlayStation, you shouldn't make it look like a multimedia centre! I do like these additions, I just don't like the design of WiiChannel.
SD Card: Has the same usage of the Memory Stick of the PSP. You can choose not to use it, though; so I'm OK with this.
Firmware update and complex installation procedure: One of my main reasons of hating PlayStation series. And it's back to Wii! Gah, such complexity of Wii Remote calibration.... And Wii Remote sometimes, though not often, fails to work (it disconnects itself from the Wii)! It's even more complex than a PS2!
And, here, what I want: - Skipping Wii Channel, go straight to the game: Why is there no Auto Mode like the DS does? Why can't I just start playing straight away? - No game tracking for the memo board thing: It's only wasting up Wii's memory. - Asking you whether to play the game or enter other channels, rather than treating the Disc Channel as an insignificant thing. Have an option mode thing to switch between different arrangementsof the modes. - More care for the original gamers from Nintendo, while still expanding the game population.

What's so wrong with PS2? I smell fanboyism.
I think the two things I dislike the most about the Wii are the Virtual Console prices (It doesn't cost them anything to put those games online, but they still ask €8,- (which also is al lot more then in America or Japan) for a SNES or Mega Drive game) and the fact that the Wii has two USB-slots but you can't use USB devices for photo's or saving data. I mean, they are much cheaper then SD-cards and more commonly used.

Nothing wrong... I just don't like the way consoles not acting like one. It's supposed to provide fun without asking you to do a whole lot of complexity before so.
And I never learnt how to even control a PS series console.
And you're right on 2 things: Why €8 for a Super Nintendo game? And why not using USB drives while they can?
EDIT: Yay! 1394th post! Huh? You don't kow wht this mean? 1394 for IEEE1394, aka FireWire!

When I stick in a GC game, I do get a little irritated that I have to find a Wii remote, activate it, select the disc channel, click "START" and then put the remote away and go back to my Wavebird (mmm, shiny wavebird).
But I'm more irritated that the games are coming out in a trickle. Nintendo has released barely a single console game for months in the run up to the Wii release. Surely they must have been working on SOMETHING.

I like the Wii Channels. I also preffer it to go into the menu first even with the disc. I like it alot. And it IS a multimedia centre, just not for movies. Note: images, music, weather, news and internet. That sounds like multimedia.
And the reason the disc channel is one channel because: it is. What, do you expect one feature to be 5 different channels?
The fact that you can't go into the Home menu while playing GCN annoys me.
I also dislike the whole Wiimote syncing thing. It took me like 20 minutes to figure it out. And now my Wiimotes are stuck to that player (1, 2,3 or 4).

Also the online support of the Wii could be better. WiiConnect24 is as good as completely useless and the friend code system just doesn't work good: I want to be able to chat with people that aren't in my friends list and don't just play against random people. I know no online games have been released for the Wii yet but if you look at the Japanese Pokémon Battle Revolution you see it works the same as the online DS games and I'm afraid that will be the same in the upcoming online Wii games too. The only pros are the VC games and that online play is free, but XBox Live is just much better.

samidusan: Well... I treat them as extras. Just skip the menu, already! All I want to see are games! I can do the rest with a computer or DVD player or something! Or, at least, make the disc channel look more significant! Maybe making it taking up more spaces, perhaps eating up a portion of the screen regardless of which "page" of Channels are you in or just ask you to whether play games or use other channels. Just make it look important!

If the Disc channel was first, and more significant, it would take away focus from the others. Nintendo is trying to have them all have their own value. Also, it is a multimedia center. It was ment to be used once a day, so a set up like this would make it doable. You can easily selecct the news or the photo channel If I were to pick something I don't like it would have to be the batteries. I wish they came rechargable. i assum I'll just have to get recargable ones.

The Disc Channel IS the first channel though, so at least that's something.

Hmm, yea... Actually, I've thought of some people may approve the design, and what I want isn't a complete abolishment. Maybe make the Channels customizable or just put in an Auto mode.
It's the first channel because it's what's people buying Wii for! Well... you may be right. At least that's something. A tiny bit of little something.
