BTW, can NDS transfer stuff from a NDS card to a GBA game pak? That would be useful for trading back Pokémon or simply to delete the GBA ones once they're transferred to D/P.
Otherwise, the GBA->NDS transfer would be a mere "copy" instead of a "transfer" (which would make sense now that you have to play that park event as a condition).

I think I read (though I'm not entirely sure whether it was confirmed or an assumption) that you couldn't go back from DS -> GBA, which is why you don't actually trade with the GBA versions to begin with.
But yeah, I assume that means the Pokemon are copies (possibly with your DP IDs since your DP character caught them).

I hopelessly behind, I'm afraid. I still haven't played Ruby/Saphire/Emerald. I'm going to pick up a copy if I find one. Really. I mean it this time.

The Pokemon you transfer from RuSaEmFRLG don't get copied, they actually get taken from your game pak and put into the park in DP. You're given the Park Ball to capture them, which has a 100% capture rating; it's similar to taking Master Balls into the Safari Zone. You can only transfer six Pokemon from one GBA cart per day--so if you have one of all five 3rd Generation games, you can transfer thirty Pokémon a day into the park. You're guaranteed to encounter them, but their encounter percentage is based on how rare the Pokemon is in the wild. (Meaning, if you transfer a Zigzagoon over, you're very likely to find it regardless of what level it is, but if you transfer over a Mewtwo, you may be searching for a very long time.) Level, stats, natures and even hold items all remain the same, but they can now be adjusted to match the new DP system. Source is again serebii.net.
Also, why give Ash anything anymore when he's proven time and time again that he's incapable of winning any sort of Elite Four challenge thrown his way regardless of how skilled or powerful his Pokemon are? I had seriously hoped they would write him out of the show for at least this season, giving us a character who would challenge and win in the Shinou League. It's been ten years and this kid is still a loser--he's proving to be a pain in the ass.

I was hoping that they someday aired an alternate season or group of episodes featuring the Orre storyline, but there doesn't seem to be plans of such a thing. As for Ash getting Naetle, it's interesting how he'll have gotten three turtle Pokémon and every Grass-type starter after that.
I don't like the idea of the park event. I was starting to think that all those requirements and the lack of information about DS->GBA transfer was because of a hardware limitation.

Well, first screenshots of the evolved forms of the starters have popped up. Click here. The types of their final forms were surprising: Grass/Ground, Water/Steel, Fire/Fighting. The final turtle looks like a soil for the tree that grows on it. The final ape looks now like a competition for Blaziken. And the final penguin looks like a tuxedo emperor penguin of sorts (it doesn't really appeal to me as much as this fake one, but it looks great anyway). Browse the site to check out some info they've been giving the last days. And it's going to be updated frequently during the day. Also, here's a list with the attributes of the apparent total of only 109 new Pokémon. And here are the box icons of all of them! And it seems Manaphy's egg is considered a Pokémon itself. Look at all those pre-evolutions and evolutions! It seems Jynx didn't get one after all!

Lots more Ice. ;D Lots of legendaries Overall good I guess. I am glad Ice got more pokemon. Theres even an Electric ghost and an Ice one. Need more pure Ice though, but maybe it could be a useable type.

Other very interesting facts: - It seems there's 2 new eeveelutions! One is Grass-type, and the other is Ice-type.
- Bippa's evolved form is indeed a beaver. Normal/Water-type.
- Lucario is not a legendary after all. Or at least, not a common one. It has a gender (already known because of early screenshots), and it has a pre-evolved form of pure Fighting type.
- Kirlia seems to have an alternate evolved form which is not Gardevoir! And it's Psychic/Fighting-type! No wonder the Gardevoir family is so popular.

Yay! Beaver Pokemon! I want one!!
This game is actually out on Friday, so not long to wait until we have a full list of everything we need to start ogling and drooling over potential future teams.
Which, sadly, I bet Beavermon won't be a part of. Just like my beloved Marowak *sob*
edit Wait... is that a Tangela evolution? And Lickitung? And Magmar? And even Yanma if I'm not mistaken!! This is nuts!!

Watch closely, and you'll find one for Aipom, Murkrow, Gligar, Porygon2 (this one is interesting), Nosepass (this one looks like Mr. Potato), Dusclops, Misdreavus, Piloswine, and even one for Magneton. I'm not totally sure, but there seems to be one for Rhydon. It has the Lightingrod ability, and its same types and egg groups. It's the one between Tangela's and Lickitung's. EDIT: Wow! On close inspection, there may be one for Togetic as well. Same types, same egg group, same color, and it's similar to it. Look between Magmar's and Yanma's. That's a full row of evolutions then.

The thing about this is Gardevoir are all female now, and the new Psychic/Fighting evo for Kirlia are all male. it makes sense, really. XD

But what will happen with the male Gardevoir you import from 3rd generation? Curiously, the new seemingly Togepi-related Pokémon is a female-only, too. I took for sure there was going to be a peacock Pokémon since the time they announced gender variations, but I didn't see any.

Oh, poor Hikozaru. You looked so nice, but not only do you have a rehash for a final evolution, but its an ugly one at that. Pocchama for the win now, but Naetle is looking nice, too.
Also, thumbs up for a Lickitung evo - I've always loved the design of Lickitung, so hopefully its evo has an equally nice design an is actually useable. And Nosepass's evo looks ridiculous - but a good kind of ridiculous.
Oh yeah, no Farfetch'd evo? No Dunsparce evo? Poor guys.

I thought that scorpion one could be a dunsparce evo, but apparently not.
As I understand it, there are now two Lapras-like critters who may be a pre- and post-evo. God, I can't wait until we find out. There were quite a few 3rd-Gen Pokes who I thought would be evos but they weren't at all.
What WOULD Farfetch'd evolve into? I envision a samurai of sorts.
I wonder if all this means the whole 1st, 2nd and 3rd-Gens will be available.
