The damage calculation is beyond types now; the Physical/Special thing is more like a solidity or non-solidity thing (Sludgebomb is Special, Fire Punch is Physical, Poison Sting keeps being Physical). Are they going to re-do the spread of stats the pokemon get? For example : Muk can learn Sludgebomb. As Muk has a low SP.Att stat this means that Sludgebomb will be really weak even against grass pokemon (as grass pokemon usually have a high-ish SP.Def stat.).

You know what the best part is? Nobody will be able to say "Waah, you can't use that - it's not part of the Metagame!!"
If I wanna use Wobbuffet, then I can use Wobbuffet! Wahahaha!

Nothings wrong with Wobbeffet. Its legit and a good Pokemon. The only pokemon that should be banned are legendaries, and you shoul;d have a match type that allows it or not.

I'm trying to learn about that, but it seems the stats will be the same when you look at the stats of related new Pokémon. And there's going to be a TM Physical Poison move (it's 80 Power and is a Contact move, though); not sure if Muk is going to be compatible. In the absence of Encore inside Wobbuffet's moveset, the blue jelly would have a little more disadvantage now because of the stat split. But my bet is they will keep banning it in NetBattle or local tournaments. It seems only female Mitsuhoney will be able to evolve into Beequeen. That little triple bee is cute yet creepy.

Some new details up in that discovery thread, including a new evolution method that, quite frankly, is so painfully obvious that I'm surprised it hasn't been done sooner - move based evolutions. So, basically, once a Pokemon has a particular move, it evolves. Simple, yet a really smart way, methinks. Oh, and... Lickitung's evo, Beroberuto! i64.photobucket.com/albums/h200/Coronis2/Shinou/Dex_Beroberuto.jpgPiloswine, Yanma and Rhydon all get very kickass looking evos, too. Tangela doesn't fair so well, though.

I think Tangela's evo is nifty. Also, here's a small section on the Pal Park, the new name for the Park where you transfer all your older Pokemon: serebii.net/diamondpearl/palpark.shtmlFurthermore it appears you only get Erureido, the split evolution of Kirlia, by using an Awakening stone on male Kirlia; this means there are most likely going to be male Gardevoir as well.

Those evolution methods rock! . And many of them make sense: Lickitung's, Tamanta's, Aipom's, Mime Jr.'s, Bonsly's. My favorite are Tamanta's and Bonsly's. I also wonder if Jessie will recover her Lickitung and make it evolve in the anime.
Another interesting thing: The Pokémon #493, aka The Creator Pokémon. Normal-type legendary, an exclusive ability, and higher combined stats ever.

I was going to respond to this yesterday when I saw it, but instead I spent ages poring over the list and dribbling a little bit into my lap. I always love new Pokemon time. Maybe I should have a Pokemon special page or something.

Serebii.net just published a list (under construction) of the new abilities here. Some of them are being given to old Pokémon species. My guess is only the ones which are caught or born at Shinou are going to have those abilities. Pokemon Safari has sprites for all of the Pokémon, both frontal and dorsal:

Some of those new abilities are cool, but others kinda suck (Bad Luck? ouch). I think the ones that have been assigned to older specie will be randomly chosen, like they were in the 3rd Gen (you could get a Ralts with Synchronize or...something else, for example).
A lot of these new Pokemon are just so badass. I love the grass Eeveelution and PorygonZ.
