Yeah, Pochama sounds like it should be given another name; it sounds too Pochacco. As for Pachirisu, I guess I could be used to it (I'm Hispanic, though, so my opinion my differ from some of yours)... How about Pachirizu? "Z <-> S" changes have been seen in those romanizations. Let's remember that those names, although it's unlikely, can still change (when the official site mentioned Weavile and some other Pokémon weeks ago, it stated they can still change). BTW, for those who have not seen it, this is the preview of the Pachirisu episode in the tenth season. It was predictable to see Pachirisu as a star of Pokémon, at least of the animé.

According to Serebii.net, it seems that Pochama may be called Piplup. Which is a much better English name, in my opinion.

Pochama, Piplup... I was thinking Pochama wasn't that bad anyway... Remember Chikorita? And did you check the news below the Piplup thing? It seems Darkrai will appear in the 10th movie!

The difference is, Chikorita still means something in English. And, yes... I'm happy about that. I love Darkrai. I don't think any legendary Pokémon have had their names changed (besides romanization) since Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos, so Darkrai will probably keep it's name. Which is good, because I like the way it sounds. ;D

Yeah, it sounds and looks all villainish. He reminds me of villains like Nightmare, Zoda, or Black Shadow. Or even one of those villains Mickey Mouse faced in one of his NES games. I love it.

From what I understand, Darkrai causes nightmares. So a comparison between him and Nightmare is a good one. ;D

There are so many Pokémon now, you can compare many of them to existing Nintendo characters ;D. Look at this: - Dodaitose vs. the Turtle sage from Majora's Mask
- Weedle vs. Wiggler
- Gengar vs. Ninji
- Deoxys vs. Giegue
- Ho-oh vs. Helmaroc King or the parrot from Lake Hylia in Twilight Princess
This is a fascinating topic ^_^.

Piplup isn't necessarily a bad name, per se...it just sounds like the noise that would come out of my mouth if I were uncontrollably passively vomiting milk. Really rolls of the tongue.

Alright, I'm dumb - whats the origin of Piplup? I can't see where it comes from.

Graaah! They're replacing May with yet ANOTHER random girl? God, the Pokemon anime is getting even MORE predictable.

At least Misty's staying the hell away. Now if only they'd get rid of Ash, then we'd be all set! And for those out of the loop, Serebii has listed more English names. Bippa's new name is now officially Bidoof, a name a pal of mine has said he associates more with the noise Thwomps make in SM64

If they got rid of Ash they'd replace him with an EVEN MORE naive character. And we all know how naive he would be.
