A 'Bart Sells his Soul' reference should go here, but theres too many great lines and scenes about souls in that episode, so I'll go on a different tangent and just say:
"awww... 40 seconds? But I want it now!"

We've seen screenshots of Baby DK climbing vines while riding Yoshi, and of Baby Peach using her parasol. That observation about "5 vehicles, 5 babies" was brilliant but why make the babies be the thing what will decide which vehicle will Yoshi transform into, when they already have their own purpose (parasol, climbing, etc.)?

More veriety. I think it adds a good amout to the game.

I was thinking that it could add to some of the puzzles / give a bit of variety (as Smashchu said). Say, for example, theres a high gap to get over, and there was the possiblility to change babies or transform. There would be two ways to get across - Peach's parasol or the helicopter, but maybe when you get over, theres a train track on the wall that leads to a flower, so if you went with Peach you'd be able to grab that, too.
Something like that, anyway.

There's some new information on the game over at Go Nintendo. Here's some of the more interesting bits from the article: The title has changed from Yoshi's Island 2 to Yoshi's Island DS. The new box art is missing the Wi-Fi connection logo. The storyline: A mysterious floating castle has suddenly appeared over peaceful Yoshi’s Island. Soon after its arrival, kids begin to disappear. Baby Mario, Baby Peach, Baby Wario and Baby DK manage to avoid being kidnapped, but Baby Luigi isn’t so lucky. Now Yoshi and the four young superstars and must set out on a wild and colorful quest to rescue the kids and investigate the ominous castle hovering overhead. Click the link for some more new info, two new screens, and some (not new) artwork.

I saw this too, I also noticed it had Kamek as one of the listed characters, as well as a picture of a Shy Guy on Stilts boss.

Looks as though Kamek's up to his old tricks. There's only one thing I'm gonna say: YIKES!!

Here's a quote that will apply to every Yoshi's Island DS and Banjo 360 thread until their respective releases.
Please, please, please don't screw this up.

Is Baby Bowser a villain or is he playable? He's gotta be on the box for some reason.

It's Luigi for goodness sake! What else would he be doing?

It's Luigi for goodness sake! What else would he be doing? I dont know, something for once. It seems strange of how far he's been shoved down over the years.
