No way! I doubt Oct. unless there is a delay in the process. We've seen actually footage, so I say summer, but it may interest you as Matt from IGN sayed May 2007. Wait, who? I wasn't aware any members of the IGN staff had pull in when SSBB was released. Where was my copy of the memo?

Matt is preety reliable on this stuff. He new before most people that MP3 was to be delayed and Excite trucks was a launch title.

He was also the first to reveal that Super Paper Mario was getting ported to the Wii.

I don't care what Matt says - as has been said, it wouldn't make any sense from a business persepctive to release Prime 3, Galaxy and Brawl right near each other, so unless one of the other two is getting a huge delay I definately think Brawl will be the last of these, putting this one in at maybe September at the earliest. Plus, from a developers persepective, there appears to be alot to be done with this game, and Sakurai seems like a bit of a perfectionist who will delay it continually until its done.
May is too early.

Those were easy calls to make though; now he's dealing with something a bit harder, and all evidence is pointing against him. Again, he's not Reggie, Sakurai or Miyamoto; until you hear it from them or someone of equal importance at Nintendo, it's most likely not true.

It makes sence. After a trailer is shown, it usually comes out in aboput a little more then a half a year. Usually big games, Like Zelda and Metal Gear get held longer. I think May is reasonable as it is 7 months from the trailer, about the amount of time left; however, summer is also a possiblity.

If I am reading that post correctly, that is quite possibly the most self contradicting post I've ever seen. Firstly, the SSBB trailer was released at E3. So thats 12 months from then until May, not 7 months. However, I've never seen this supposed '6 month rule' ever take place, and, even if it has, Smash Bros. is quite clearly a 'big' game ala Zelda and MGS, which would mean that according to that logic it should be longer than half a year anyway. So, basically, you're talking crazy. It'll be late 07. Trust me, I've even bet on it.

As nice as a May release would be, late 2007 sounds like the most realistic. We'll see, though.

I'm not tryin 2 bump this topic but will the Nintendo Wii allow u 2 make a movement w/ ur foot and then copy it on the screen? If so, then I definitely want Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Imagine doin the chokeslam move (as DK and w/ the controller in ur hand) and that being done on the screen!!

What? That's ridiculous. The Wii doesn't track any of your body's movement, just the movement of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck attachment.
And besides, SSBB won't utilize the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities anyway.

Wait. What if there was a game that used the remote and nunchuck, plus a DDR mat? You could get a full body workout with that! DDR meets Samba de Amigo! Silly me.

You cant use the first one as you dont know how far the game is along with pre render(Killzone 2 anyone) Also, Im judging this on other games. Most games shown at E3 usually come out aroung the holidays and sometimes eearly next year. So, thats a little more then 7 months at the most. Also, keep in mind that the game should be on the path to completion at E3, so Smash Bros should be starting the Beta phase( and Smash looks to be a good ways into it). I think Summer is the most reasonable. Rarly do games get pushed back a LONG wasy. Also, this isn't on the ssame scale as Zelda or MGS. Those game take ALOT longer to develop, and I think we should know this after TP and OoT

Anyway, the next SSB might be released in the summer of 2007. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will make it in the spring, and all the Pokemon from those games will be worked in. They wouldn't wanna leave anything behind, now would they?

No, you read it wrong. First, its the newest trailer, as it shows aactuall game footage. You cant use the first one as you dont know how far the game is along with pre render(Killzone 2 anyone) But... there was gameplay footage in the original trailer. Quite a bit, in fact. I think Summer is the most reasonable. Rarly do games get pushed back a LONG wasy. Also, this isn't on the ssame scale as Zelda or MGS. Those game take ALOT longer to develop, and I think we should know this after TP and OoT Now, I don't think that's really fair. I'd say a new SSB game is just as important to Nintendo as a new Zelda game. After all, I'd imagine SSBM sold a lot more Gamecubes that Wind Waker did.
