And Smashchu, it is possible that the DK tie is some sort of family heirloom... Monkeys don't have heirlooms. They throw feices at eachother, thats what they do.

I like the idea of the "family tie" myself. *rimshot*
I also think that disregarding canon is for people with no creative sense.
So as for Mario vs. DK, I had this theory that the DK in any Mario game is the classic one (Cranky), and the DKC series took place in the future. This was easily supported by the lack of DKC stuff in Mario games until Camelot started the trend of including Diddy among other things. I supposed one could argue about the time travel theory, though.
I also had this other theory that Melee was like the Crisis on Infinite Earths of Nintendo and caused all variations of the characters to be fused together, thus causing the classic and Super DKs to be one and the same, Bowser's seven kids to be erased from existence (which was actually disproven by Mario & Luigi), and the Zelda timeline to undergo a huge overhaul (which I ain't going to touch with a 39.5 foot pole).
Lastly, the Baby Bowser in PiT isn't supposed to be Bowser Jr., it's supposed to be Bowser's past self. They just redesigned him to look more like his son, with the bib and everything.
You know Fry, you ought to re-title this the "Canon Thread" and erase all the early posts from it.

Ahh, like when you fall in love with your dog and start french kissing it, but the dog doesn't like it and nips you on the nose! Like that? Erase everything? What about stuff like this? Also, if the Mario and the Koopa Kids don't work out, we can propose this theory... THERE ARE MULTIPLE MARIOS AND BOWSERS OVER HUNDREDS OF YEARS!!!I did think of the Cranky "night time traveling" theories though. If you broaden your thoughts, and think the whole thing over, you'll go insane and ask how Mario gets killed by touching a turtle and how exactly Samus goes to the bathroom in her Power Suit. But enough...

uh, why don't the Koopalings exist exactly? If Bowser can have seven children its perfectly possible for him to have another, it doesn't need to be some weird voodoo magic that splits Bowser Jr into many souls or some strange crap like that.
This thread smells of flinged faeces.

Obviously YOU have never played Mario Party, where Bowser Jr. does just that.
Although it's Mini Bowser... I suppose that's probably Bowser's other OTHER child.
The Mario series is hella weird.

As far as I'm conerned, Mini-Bowser never existed. ...BECAUSE I HATE HIM! He's ugly and has an awful voice. That, and I never got over the whole "fake star" thing.

Mario Party games don't count for anything. I've always pictured Mini Bowsers as something more like the mecha Bowsers from SMW, though.

I also think that disregarding canon is for people with no creative sense. However, there's a difference between "disregarding canon" and "having no canon." Mario falls into the latter category--every five or so years, the series unleashes a new character or plot point that unravels something accomplished previously. Mario's not very story-intensive, so canon doesn't factor into it all that well.

What do you mean lack of DKC references in later Mario games? I know perfectly well that DKC was made by Rare, but after they split, Camelot started putting DKC references in the Mario games they developed.
As for that thing about Mini-Bowsers, I liked to think they were Bowser's equivalent of the Clone Troopers from Star Wars, with him being their Jango Fett.

Wait...how about the theory that Bowser Jr. IS Baby Bowser, and Bowser adopted him as a son (even though they were one and the same). Then Baby Bowser/Bowser Jr ran away, and Bowser did the deed with Peach and had the 7 Koopa Kids. But that would mean Peach gave birth to them.
Eww....

Peach is not the mother of any Koopa Kids. Dude!! But I am a subscriber to the belief that Bowser Jr. and Baby Bowser are one and the same. Thanks M&L:PiT! You unconfused one thing for me

I can't get around the idea of Bowser Jr. and Baby Bowser being the same. I mean... if Bowser travelled to the future and got adopted by himself, then he wouldn't grow up in the past, and there'd be no adult Bowser to adopt the baby Bowser. *head explodes* Anyway, Bowser Jr.'s fatter than Baby Bowser. It's just about the only difference between them.

Uh, Baby Bowser doesn't have horns or a bib. the only game in which he looks like Bowser Jr. is PiT, and that was probably because of stylistic differences.
I ain't buying that cock n' bull story. There's too many things wrong with it.

People's weight fluctuate you know.
And an unnamed Koopa (hereby known as "Koopie-Pie"), gave birth to all 7, but died after the last.
