The sequel that's coming out, or may already be out in Japan, tosses in Waluigi and a Tamagotchi. It also includes really ridiculous items times ten, including the carrot from Mario Land 2  But the coolest thing? Color commentary. They hired a guy to do commentary on the race live and in-game. That's... kinda awesome  You got a source for this tidbit? And holy cow, the Carrot--that was friggin' awesome. My favorite old-timey Mario Power Up ever. |

Are the items on that cabinet display the only new ones added? Because the first game had about a hundred items. Wonder what those new ones do...
It also appears that you can change into different cars by picking up a Mario Box.

I know it was a comment similar to this one that started the thread, but home console port please thanks Nintendo. Have all the content from both games and release it this year (with online?) and have the proper Mario kart Wii next year.

Then the Wiimote could be used for aiming that fancy homing cursor that some items have.
