I think Luigi in Galaxy would be the same as Luigi in Paper Mario. He will stay behind and have a secret room with a diary that talks about later Nintendo games...

I doubt Luigi will be in as a second player. The game doesn't look like it could really do well with two players on screen at the same time and no one does two-player by taking turns any more. If Luigi is in, it's just another cameo appearance, I think.

The Koopalings had natures. Didn't they get little blurbs in Mario World? And they had their own respective mechs in Yoshi's Safari, and their own personal looks and attack styles. It was enough to infer personalities upon, I think.
Jr. is basically the favored choice only because he's, well... one character. It's a lot easier than a whopping 7.
And I don't think that's Kamek in particular, but the notion is fun to entertain. The music and Bowser's "lol black magick" were incredible to see make a comeback though. I remember when they said Sunshine was meant to bring Mario back to his roots. Nah... this is it. The fact alone that they include suits oozes Mario 3 goodness.

Haha! I think you might be right! And Luigi in a haunted mansion makes sense. Almost TOO much sense.
I didn't think they would give him a playable role, but Nintendo's gone a bit mad on in-jokes in recent years - one of them being that Luigi never appears in games. So they're squeezing him into non-playable roles. Haha, that would be excellent.
