Looking at it, I think the War of Heroes will become its own game.
What I've read has said that the story to Fire Emblem 1 is being expanded. It's not just a simple remake like FE3 was. New characters and weapons have already been shown, so I think they're going to focus on just the War of Darkness this time, but make it more epic.
Personally I'd be happy with supports, a more fleshed out story, and online. Which at least one has been confirmed.

Indeed you must.
In the short video shown, Riff a character from only FE1 was shown! This means that there will definitely be things only from 1 returning.

I actually never saw the video. But someone did take pictures of it. It was really just Sheeda fighting and Marth talking to Riff.

Gonna bump this for the minisite. www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/yfej/Freaking love it. Graphics are wonderful and the character art is a huge leap from before. Marth and Sheeda never looked better in 2D. |

Especially Navahl's in either the vid or a random screen on the site. They're going for a more realistic anime feel on top of the FE3 designs. Fantastic.
