I noticed in a lot of old nintendo games that have batterys say you have to hold the reset button while you save. Do I have to do this? Should I do it to Modern games too?

another thing like get the disc out before you turn offf your Gamecube, eh? I don't think you must listen to it - if you just turn it off, the battery save should still be there!

I never held reset as I turned the power off. Maybe it was a battery preserving technique or something.

The reason they tell you to turn off the Gamecube before taking out a disc is so you're not exposed to laser light. You could even damage the laser too.

There's a whole other thread about it here. The Gamecube manual says you should open the Gamecube and remove the disc before turning it off. No idea why.
