I think that Reggie is making a risky move to add one the best Deathmatch Multiplayer, Golden 007 for the Virtual since it was a Rare Developed.
According to Wikipedia
"The President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, announced that Nintendo is exploring the possibility of adding GoldenEye 007 to the Wii Virtual Console, despite a complicated situation in which the game's developer Rare is owned by Microsoft (producers of the rival Xbox 360 console) and the video game rights to the James Bond franchise are held by Activision. He stated, "We would love to see it [on the Virtual Console], so we're exploring all the rights issues"

That would be full of win, but Wikipedia's a site edited by regular people instead of professionals, so there's a pretty good chance it's not even true, regardless of how hard it would be to make happen.
Seriously, though. Boris wins.

It'd be great to have Goldeneye on the VC, but even if Reggie wants it, I have my doubts. I imagine it'll end up on Xbox 360 in some form, whether it's on Live Arcade or a remake.

Yeah, Microsoft are investigating similar options. Of course Nintendo wants it - it was one of their biggest selling games on N64.

For some reason, I don't think Nintendois being involvedin the what-we-call-console-war - precisely, I think Nintendo's newer innovation-driven consoles fall onto new categories.
And I think Microsoft won't oppose its not-a-rival to do a remake on their system. They already allowed games on GBA, so why not this time?
I think it can eventually happen.
