(this is a feature in the style of 64DD Thoughts: Ura Zelda. If you have not read it yet read it now!)
Everyone knows about EB64, and the shift from DD to 64, then death....but..what about that "Mother 3.5" they were talking about?
Well, it's safe to say that Mother 3 is EarthBound 64's storyline.
Often, Mother 3.5 could be thought of as a plan that would incorporate EB64's original 64DD qualities.
That was from a 1997 IGN article about EB64.
Then it was moved to 1999, and Mother 3.5 (EarthBound Add-On) surfaced,
It leaves a lot to wonder by. In fact, why can't Mother 3.5 involve the further adventures of our favorite junior high RPG guy, Ness.
Next slide, please.
Nothing like this appears in Mother 3. It could be Onett, but it could be Threed due to the Circus tent. And then, the most cryptic surprise of all....
Note the conflicting views...obviously, this a place you've visited...the tower reading "Monotoru" suggests it is Fourside, yet the sign claims it is Onett. Strange how things just happen like that. But wait!
Is that...static? Perhaps Pokey is showing his damage he left....
That's cryptic. So, that ends our presentation on Mother 3.5.
And remember, I figured this out all by myself! You heard it here first!
Please discuss and comment.

Real-time internal clock of the 64DD to affect gameplay. Realistic, graphically intense world; Compelling storyline; Unique individual experience guaranteed for each player; Ability to play different characters; Because the 64DD is much larger than carts, EB 64 will feature more speech, music and textures than other N64 games.

August 13, 1999 - The producer of Nintendo's anticipated Mother 3 (called Earthbound 64 in the US revealed new details about the game to the Japanese press recently. Though the title has been purposely kept very secret for the past six months, development has been coming along steadily, and, as Nintendo's Space World list recently revealed, the title will be playable at the Japan-based show later this month.
Though the game was shifted over to cartridge from its original 64DD form last year, Mother 3's producer also made mention of a 64DD expansion disk for the title, which is currently being called "Mother 3.5." No details regarding the expansion have been made available, though it is expected to serve up an entirely new quest and characters, but utilize the same game engine as the cartridge game.
IGN64 will play Mother 3 (Earthbound 64) in Japan later this month. Stay with us for more.
