SNAKE IS A VIDEO GAME CHARACTER. SO ARE ALL THE NINTENDO CHARACTERS. THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SNAKE AND MICKEY. ITS SO GOD DAMN SIMPLE.
I had also heard that Doc was in for his music (actually I probably read it here).
And a big hell yes to a full on adventure mode. Hell, expand it past the basic fighting - what about a sidescrolling shoot-em-up Arwing level and that kind of stuff as well?
I'd hit that.

OK that's it, I don't think you guys are going to convince each other, since you seem to be arguing about the exact same thing over and over again. Debates are what a forums is about, but I think you just have to different opinions, not right or wrong information. Or not. Forget it, just go back at it, it's fun to read .

Here's what I think: World 1: Mario (More enemies than before, much longer, bosses like Goomboss, Petey Piranha, and so on - First stage from SSBM, then based on SMB, then SMB2, SMB3, SMW, SMW2:YI) World 2: DK (Side-scrolling stage again [no more normal fights], Kremling baddies and bosses yadda yadda etc.) World 3: Zelda (Overworld-themed area first, then the underground maze) World 4: Metroid (Side-scrolling stage with bosses, then the escape level) World 5: More Mario (Yoshi's Story, Luigi's Mansion) World 6: Kirby (Mini-stages with enemies, bosses, etc.) World 7: StarFox (Corneria mini-stage, Sauria, Aparoid Homeworld, and maybe a few others [if you've played Assault...]) World 8: Pokémon (Fight a random 20 of the 386 [or however many more next time] Pokémon on Pokémon Stadium) World 9: F-Zero (Focus on the mini-stages like the one seen in SSBM) World 10: Earthbound (Must I say it again...?) World 11: Kid Icarus World 12: Ice Climber World 13: Balloon Fight World 14: Clu Clu Land World 15: Mach Rider World 16: Pikmin World 17: Animal Crossing (Donno how this would work) World 18: Doshin the Giant (Ah, why not?) World 19: Kurukuru Kururin (Yeah! Played it before, so I don't see why not) World 20: Custom Robo World 21: Chibi Robo World 22: Fire Emblem World 23: [Advance] Wars World 24: Legend of Starfy World 25: Golden Sun World 26: Final Stages Fry has speculated on the page that there may be more third-party developers lending a hand with their characters. A Mega Man stage would be great, too, if Capcom comes in. Okay then, maybe some others: Mega Man, Viewtiful Joe, Sonic, Bomberman, Mystical Ninja Goemon, Klonoa, Pac-Man, Katamari, Final Fantasy...........? Deoxys would also be a worthy candidate, but are there any worthwhile Gold/Silver ones?

Deoxys would also be a worthy candidate, but are there any worthwhile Gold/Silver ones? Not so many of them. If you had to pick one plotwise, Sudowoodo would be one. Scizor would look good promoted as playable. But they wouldn't pick any of them before Deoxys, Lucario, or Plusle & Minun.

A big, long (savable) Adventure mode would be AWESOME. Some of the side-scrolling platform stuff in SSBM really worked (Metroid, F-Zero), some of it I didn't like as much (Mario, Zelda), but it at least shows it works in the context of SSBM. Plus tons of mini-games, including possibly whole levels from forgotten classics, and hidden trophies only obtainable by using the special moves of specific characters... I hope this is the kind of stuff Sakurai means when he says he wants to focus more on single-player...

Deoxys would also be a worthy candidate, but are there any worthwhile Gold/Silver ones? You've done well. But how about this: instead of just 20 Pokemon, you fight every Pokemon ever, including the DP ones that where revealed early! That would be so sweet. You'd have to make them very lightweight too though... maybe your right. I think their should be another Mario stage, for Galaxy and another Zelda stage, that goes from Ocarina, to Wind Waker, to PH, to TP. Lugia and Ho-oh are pretty important, but they can fly REALLY fast, and I don't think being limited to 5 flaps would be accurate.

Good point, there should be stages from SMG and the newest TLoZ games.
Speaking of the future, we'll have a wide variety of Pokémon (at least coming from Poké Balls) because Diamond and Pearl will come out on late September in Japan. Maybe we'll even have a Poké-Floats II?

Maybe we'll even have a Poké-Floats II? It's kind of hard to think of another Pokémon-themed stage. The two that were in Melee were good enough. Well, there could be another city from one of the games, just like Saffron from the original. And make Poké Floats longer with more Pokémon. Lugia and Ho-Oh came from Pokéballs in Melee, remember? Anyone remember Pilotwings (64 was great) and Stunt Race FX? I guess they could use-...........Well, just keep those in the trophies. Mole Mania, Sutte Hakkun, and Star Tropics, too (in the trophies, I mean. Or I donno, what do you think?). (Sakurai said he doesn't want too many overly popular ones in)

For regular stages, we could have a ride on Rayquaza's back while Groudon and Kyogre battle in the middle ;D. A replacement for Saffron City could be the Battle Frontier from Emerald. They could make a new Stadium with new elements (Electric, Steel, Ice, Ground), or a Poké-Floats/Blimps/Planes/Cars with Hoenn and Shinou Pokémon .

Those two would be standing on Rayquaza when fighting, right? Those forms could be in the Melee one, which should stay. Looked through the Gold/Silver Pokédex and still can't find a worthy one. Togetic, perhaps?

Awesome idea for a stage, especially the first! Those two would be standing on Rayquaza when fighting, right? That's right, SSB needs more epic and plot-related Pokémon stages and not just ornamental stuff. Groudon and Kyogre would be fighting on an archipielago with lots of ground and sea Pokémon around them. You would ride Rayquaza and fight on it for the entire match, with Eruptions and Water Spouts as hazards . Another epic place would be Mt. Battle (from Orre), on which you could have a SSB battle in the middle of a Pokémon battle, with XD001 in the background carrying the S.S. Libra . Looked through the Gold/Silver Pokédex and still can't find a worthy one. Togetic, perhaps? Togepi is more recognizable than Togetic. But Togepi would be hard to see fighting. If Game Freak and Genius Sonority forgot the Johto region, then why woudn't HAL forget the Johto Pokémon as playable?

No need for another Metronomer in the Pokéballs either.

I was thinking about what Pokemon could be in and have fallen in love with the idea of having Sudowoodo. He wouldn't have very good stats, but would probably be a great dodger (since he twists and sways and stuff). He'd also probably have some real good special moves to make up for it. He'd be alot like Jigglypuff in the fact that he would seem crapola, but wouldn't be.
But I don't think he could get in. For Johto pokes its probably between Pichu, Togepi, Marill (OMG itz Pikablu!) and Wobbuffet. Wobby would be hard to implement, and the rest, while prominant during Johto times, really don't have any major reason to be in as the rarely appear anymore. However I also think Hoenn has much the same problem - you've got Plusle and Minun, but, surely, no more Electric pokes would be added. Deoxys maybe, but he'd probably be fairly similar to Mewtwo. Other options are maybe Blaziken or Sceptile, but I'm not sure whether they'd want to start putting starters in as they'll never be able to put all 3 in (unless Sakurai has managed to work faster than time itself and has already filled 100+ spots).
Also what a great sounding Adventure mode. I would totally love that.

I notice that there are no fighting pokemon. Sudowood would work. I'd also be happy with Machamp or Primape.

He'd be alot like Jigglypuff in the fact that he would seem crapola, but wouldn't be. The best part of Sudowoodo is that it knows moves of a variety of types. And it can use Mimic . Maybe it would jump like Yoshi? For Johto pokes its probably between Pichu, Togepi, Marill (OMG itz Pikablu!) and Wobbuffet. Wobby would be hard to implement, and the rest, while prominant during Johto times, really don't have any major reason to be in as the rarely appear anymore. Wobbuffet would deserve to be there but like you said, it's almost impossible to picture a pure counter-attacker character in a SSB game. From Hoenn it's not that bad. Plusle and Minun would be the most deservable duo of Pokémon to be tag teamed, and they (instead of Pichu) are seen along with Pikachu these days. In terms of Pika-friends, we could get them, Meowth, Munchlax, or even Pachirisu (we don't know anything about this squirrel, but it just looks like it will be a Pika-friend in the future ). The Hoenn starters will probably come only from Poké Balls just to be fair to the people who chose a particular starter in R/S/E . And if you liked the idea of Sudowoodo, Kecleon is the Hoenn equivalent of the pseudotree since it acted as a path blocker in the game. I notice that there are no fighting pokemon. Sudowood would work. I'd also be happy with Machamp or Primape. Lucario is part Fighting-type. What more can you ask for?
