Why does the US have such terrible VC titles?

There's nothing wrong with Real Bout Fatal Fury beyond its sequels being up first, and Ninja Gaiden is a well-regarded NES classic (although I didn't get the appeal). The only thing I could figure is that you're upset about some titles taking longer to get here than in other regions, and that's Nintendo of America's doing. At least we're getting a fairly steady stream of games these days; it was much worse for the majority of the year.
Please explain what you mean. I'm not sure why you're complaining, Koopaul. What would you like to see? I've got a long list myself. I'm curious as to what is bothering you.

To be fair to Koopaul, the American VC has slowed down to a single Neo-Geo game or so a week. We haven't gotten a big release in a pretty good while.

I, for one, am thrilled the VC has gotten so much Neo Geo support this year. The Real Bout series, The Last Blade series, The King of Fighters '97, Metal Slug 3, Shock Troopers: these are some of the best games the Neo Geo has to offer, and well-worth checking out. The only problem is that a lot of these games are also available on compilations. On the other hand, buying the original cartridges is an extremely expensive endeavor, so it's still a really good deal.

Yeah, it's pretty cool the Neo Geo is getting love. SNK needs it, always. Kinda wish other companies were throwing stuff on the VC, but barring weird cult titles, we've got most of the notable stuff. We do need a buttload more N64 games, though.

Nah I'm just jealous how Europe is getting Wario Land 3 and we haven't even gotten Wario Land 2 yet.

If Disney now owns Star Wars and Star Wars SNES games are still on Wii Virtual Console, wouldn't it be nice if Disney also puts out Disney games on Wii Virtual Console? I really would love to play the Magical Quest trilogy, Mickey Mania, Castle of Illusion series, DuckTales 1+2, Rescue Rangers 1+2, Aladdin, The Lion King, and of course Mickey Mousecapade (my second ever NES game) on my TV screen. I am surprised Disney didn't put out Castle of Illusion on the Wii Virtual Console to promote Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion.
I also think that Warner Bros. should put out their games on Wii Virtual Console as well. Batman (NES), Batman Returns (SNES), Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle (NES), Tiny Toon Adventures Buster Busts Loose (SNES), The Adventures of Batman & Robin (SNES/Genesis), even Mortal Kombat games (since Warner Bros. is the current publisher). Just the good ones, not crappy ones like Superman 64. Like what I said about Disney, I think that releasing a good Batman game on Wii Virtual Console would probably be a smart business move to promote Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition.
In other words, I think Nintendo should start talking with non-video game companies about licensed games. It might bring a surge of interest in the Wii Virtual Console and more people might want to buy Wii or Wii U because they want to play these games again and/or give their children something a bit more family-friendly than ZombiU. And well, it would be nice to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time and The Simpsons Arcade Game again. Just needed to get that out of my chest.
Back to topic about Neo Geo. I don't really feel too excited about Neo Geo games. The only Neo Geo games I downloaded are Magical Drop III and Metal Slug 1/3/X. The countless fighting games don't really appeal me and I am not sure what's the difference between all of them. I want to give them a try but I am not sure which ones I should pick up.

As part of Capcom's Mega Man 25th, Mega Man 1 - 6 (all NES) will be released on the 3DS eShop over the next year. The first will arrive on December 27th, MM2 on February 7th, and the rest are TBD.
I do have to ask, though; where's Mega Man 6 for the Wii, hm?

It's not eShop related, but Street Fighter X Mega Man is now available to download for FREE from Capcom-unity. Yeah, all the fighting games can be a little overwhelming. Of the ones that are available, I would recommend King of Fighters '97 and Samurai Shodown IV as good entry points for those series'. The KoF games can be intimidating because of the number of characters and team-based combat. Essentially, you have to learn three characters at once, which gives the games a somewhat steep learning curve. I think KoF97 is a good entry point because it plays well, but also has a good story (for a fighting game), so you can get oriented with the setting and characters. The character selection is good, but not humongous, so finding characters you like doesn't get too confusing. Samurai Showdown is a slower, more methodical, more defensive fighting game. SS4 has a good character selection, and the AI is actually pretty gentle for an SNK game, so I think it's a good place to start. For non-fighting games, of course, I recommend Shock Troopers.

Milon's Secret Castle (NES, Konami/Hudson) and Space Harrier 3D (Sega) are due out for Japan next week. Also, there is a rumor about a "Capcom Arcade Cabinet" collection that will pack in a bunch of Capcom arcade titles for DLC channels, including the Wii U and 3DS. If this is real, then this looks to be a fairly meaty collection, lumping a whole bunch of classic Capcom goodies such as Black Tiger, Sonson, Pirate Ship Higemaru, Legendary Wings, Avengers, Gun.smoke, Ghosts N Goblins, Side Arms, The Speed Rumbler, Commando, Trojan, 1943, Sector Z, and more!

For anyone else who has Art Academy, Nintendo has released a free lesson over SpotPass that teaches you how to paint a Goomba. Get it while you can, as distribution ends Jan 10.

Tired of Neo Geo games... let's see some Super Famicom and PC Engine CD games localized for Wii Virtual Console in the West. I have Ganbare Goemon and Tengai Makyo games in mind. They look interesting. Come on, Nintendo and Konami! Make deals, get our money! On the plus side, I am happy with Wario Land 2! It's very linear compared to Wario Land 1 and 3 but it's still pretty good.
