Don't expect that, man. The fact we're getting NeoGeo games is astounding considering that the Wii is essentially dead.

Yeah, you are right. Perhaps for the Wii U Virtual Console... hopefully with Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast games, not just Gamecube games.

I wonder if Nintendo is going to restructure the Virtual Console for the Wii U to comply with their newer licensing policies (allowing third-parties to determine their own pricing, sales, etc.). I don't know if that would affect the Wii's shop, but I would guess not.

Oh, you mean like what we see with 3DS Virtual Console? Yeah, probably. And maybe, just MAYBE, the Donkey Kong Country trilogy might be back on the Wii U Virtual Console along with Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong Racing.

On the topic of "games removed from the WSC", Simcity (SNES) has been removed, without warning obviously.
EDIT: From NA virtual console.

Could somebody from Europe check to see if Simcity is still available there? I'm working on a feature and could use the information! Thanks!

Could somebody from Europe check to see if Simcity is still available there? I'm working on a feature and could use the information! Thanks! Well, I'm not Europe, but I'll gave it a shot because it I thought well, we do share most of our releases with Europe. Went to Wii Shop Channel, had to perform a system update, finally got to store, searched "Simcity" and . . . to my surprise . . . . . . . . . It's still there! ;D Holy shit, I was quite surpised to see it. Really, I was not expecting to see it there. Even clicked on it page, still avalible to purchase/gift*, full description is still there ( co-developed by Maxis/Nintendo, has season changes, best adaption of the game, Nintendo character guest appearances, more seanarios, great soundtrack, yadda yadda yadda) There's still the warning of the front page of our WSC, talking about the removal of the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, so maybe we get a warning first? * On the topic of gifting Simcity, it won't work, WSC content/games not giftable outside of regions/certain countries.

* On the topic of gifting Simcity, it won't work, WSC content/games not giftable outside of regions/certain countries. I'm sure I've overcome gifting problems in the past by matching the countries of the source and destination Wii systems. Although this was for systems in actual countries of one same region, I'd bet the Wii doesn't have an IP check that disallows PAL-NA gifting. Here's a warning, though.

Well guys, I've decided that I'm going to retire from updating this. My interest has waned much like the Virtual Console, and to be honest, that's why I did it in the first place. I'm feeling more and more that I need to do more stuff offline these days; hitting 30 may be part of the reasoning. This is one task that I just don't have the heart to continue. I hope someone else will take it up in my stead; otherwise, it's been a pleasure letting everyone know what's been going down with the DL options.
I'll still be around, BTW; this is not a formal good-bye or anything. I just don't care to do this anymore.

It feels like there's never enough time in the day to do things. Most importantly . . . . . .Thank you for updating this thread with new release information for so,so,so long.

Oh...! Thanks a lot of all these years of updating, Wildcat!!! It sounds like a healthy retirement.
If nobody is up to continuing, I would appreciate a source you (or you guys) use to see this kind of news weeks before their releases.

Thanks for your contribution Wildcat, even though I don't need them myself as a Japanese version player.

We appreciate your contribution, Wildcat. I guess there isn't a lot of old games to look forward to from 3DS eShop and Wii Virtual Console for a while now. Maybe when NintendoLife reports news that are relevant to my interests...
