It's like Nintendo read my mind when I thought that I wanted more screenshot-taking capabilities made available in my games; Ever since Snapshot mode was announced for Brawl, I've really earnestly wanted this, in order to capture candid moments in gaming that I'd otherwise forget about.
My Pokémon Ranch comes with this exact function - you can take pictures of your Pokémon Ranch, upload them to your Wii Message Board or SD Card, and then share them at your own whims. Which is farking oresum, if you ask me.
Anyway, because of this wickedness, I've gone ahead and posted up in my handydandy Livejournal Photobucket Account the first ten screencaptures I've taken. Take a look and share your own! ;D

Is the "game" worth the ten or so dollars they're charging for it?
Nice pics by the way.

For the Pokemon fan who wants to catch them all AND have a decent team, it's essential. It's basically Pokemon Box but with ACTUAL stuff to do and cheaper as well!

Is the "game" worth the ten or so dollars they're charging for it? Nice pics by the way. Well, it's great if you're aiming for a full PokéDex, even better if you want to be a contemptuous collector like me and have one of every type of Pokémon there is. While Diamond and Pearl have enough room in Bebe's Computer for all 480-something, it leaves you only one box and about two rows of spare room, which makes breeding for trading or training purposes difficult, amongst other things. The Ranch also has a function where it reads the Pokedex Data you have in the DS cart you currently have plugged in; Hayley, the character running the Ranch, will then provide you hints on how and where to find certain Pokémon you haven't seen or caught. (Like, for me, it gave me the location for Finneon, Chatot [seen], and Illumise [not seen]. Later, when I caught Chatot, Hayley replaced its data with Yanma's [also not seen].) Hayley will also occasionally offer you trades for Pokémon that have moves they normally don't, making breeding a step or two easier.
The way this works is that you can only have a certain amount of Pokémon in your Ranch at a time; you start with a limit of 20, which increases to 50 once you get all 20 slots taken up. The ranch will upgrade once you pass a certain number - actually deemed as "leveling up" - allowing you to eventually store 1000 Pokémon of your choice. You can have a set number of Miis from your Mii Channel to act as Ranchers (Deadpool and Robotnik rank amongst my numbers, as you've seen), and that number will likewise increase as the Ranch levels up. However, it's exclusively a holding device; you can transport Pokémon freely between Ranch and the save file it came from on the DS cart, but you can't switch it up. Like, you import a Croagunk from Diamond; it can't go down into any Pearl cart, nor into any other Diamond cart. And if you erase the save file on that Diamond cart, you can't send the Pokémon into the new save file on the same cart.
Most of the fun you'll have is watching your Pokemon interact with the Ranchers and each other. If you'll get as much amusement in watching an Octillery ride on a Ho-Oh's head as I did, then yeah, it might be for you. But it's not a true game. It's just an interactive storage device, really.

Your Dex is full? Really? How did you get Shaymin then? Hacking? I like to do things fair. I want Mew. You can get it with Ranch.

Nice pictures, does Bulbasaur have unique riding properites or something or can all the Pokemon do that in PR?

The riding thing is not unique to Bulbasaur, no. I've got a picture of an Octillary riding a Ho-Oh that I haven't uploaded yet (I think I mentioned that in the above post, but I don't remember XD), plan to put that in the gallery today. Also, I've heard that certain flying Pokémon like Pidgeot or Articuno can lift your Miis up from the ground and fly around with them.

Alright, I joined just to find the answer to this question, it seems there are not any walkthroughs for this game at all yet. I just got it yesterday, my daughter imported 3 of PM from Pearl and I have 10 from Diamond, along with Haley's 7, this makes 20. It says we have 20 pokemon in the corner, but on the BBS board it says we need 7 more to level up. How do we get rid of Haley's pokemon so I can bring in my OWN seven to level up?? Also, is there a way to put our pix up here without using an SD card?

Well, for pics, you need an SD card (welcome to the forums BTW).
TEi probably knows about that leveling up stuff...

Welcome aboard, Flygon! To answer your questions...
For Level-ups: There's a cap to how many Pokemon you can hold at a time in the Ranch, as I mentioned before. In my experience, Hayley's Pokémon always count as part of the total you have on the Ranch and give you a little push towards the next level, sort of a form of bonus EXP; right now, I have...I think it's 37 of my own Pokémon in the Ranch while the remaining 13 are Hayley's (and my cap is currently 50). The thing is, the Ranch won't completely level up until the next day according to your Wii's clock; when I downloaded Ranch on Monday and filled up the first 20 at around 10:30, I waited until midnight passed and then I could fill in up to 50. I'd have done the same last night, but I was pressed for time XD So the only thing I can think of is just that not enough time has passed on your Wii, and wait until the next day according to your Wii's internal clock to put more in. If you've already done this...I don't really know what could be wrong. Check all of your settings in that case, mess around with the buttons on the left side of the screen and explore all the submenus to make sure.
For picture posting: In order to get them online, like TVEye said, an SD Card is necessary - that, and an SD Card Reader. It can be kind of a costly investment, but it's handy to have around anyway due to this and Smash Bros. Brawl. If you have a digital camera, then the chances are that you already have an SD Card and don't realize it, and all you'd need would be the reader (which usually pops at about $20); you can switch the card freely from the camera to the Wii to the reader and back, so just be cautious in where you keep it ;D
if you have any other technical questions, please feel free to ask. I'm at work right now which explains why I'm not very helpful, so I apologize. If I find something more practical, I'll post it here for you.
