I remember back at primary school, the class computer has single level of the original MDK (Which we nicknamed "Mission: Deliver Kindness"). What the hell does MDK stand for? Because we called it Mission: Deliver Kindness, too, and the fact that I don't know the truth is infuriating.

What the hell does MDK stand for? Because we called it Mission: Deliver Kindness, too, and the fact that I don't know the truth is infuriating. According to this Wikipedia article, it doesn't really have an official meaning, but it was originally meant to stand for "Murder, Death, Kill": In an interview with David Perry in the RetroGamer magazine released in UK, David revealed that the original meaning of "MDK" was in fact "Murder Death Kill". This can be confirmed by viewing the game's concept video where the game's logo is written with those words on top of each other with the letters "MDK" enlarged. But because the toy company that were supposed to make toys based on the game didn't like to have those words printed on the toys, the words were removed and replaced with only "MDK". The meaning of "MDK" has since then become a subject of debate.

I remember back at primary school, the class computer has single level of the original MDK (Which we nicknamed "Mission: Deliver Kindness"). Yes! Our first computer came pre-installed with that demo aswell. Played the crap out of it. Those dark hallways that were used to load the next area creeped me out though... I'm aware the second one is pretty different, with the other characters having different playstyles and all that, but I'll end up buying it anyway because booyeah MDK!

I haven't played the first one, so keep that in mind.
MDK2 is one of the finest shooters I have ever played. Kurt's sections are some of the best modern shooter sections I have ever played. You are supposed to be stealthy, but that never worked out for me. As it stands, they are high octane fun.
Max's sections... Imagine the macho of Contra with a life bar. It's probably the most pure run and gunning has been in the past few generations of gaming. Four miniguns = massive amounts of fun. Too bad the jetpack sections are so frustrating.
And the Doctor's sections are brilliant puzzle platforming with very nice Easter eggs if you try everything. These are the polar opposite of Max's, and the contrast is part of what makes it so fun- you have to use your brain and not just your Atomic Toaster.
In short, MDK2 is fucking awesome and one of the most underplayed games I've seen.

According to GoNintendo, Atari is making a new version of their 2600/VCS game Haunted House. It will be available for XBLA, Window PC Download, and Wii. No mention of WiiWare, so it sounds like the Wii version will be a retail release, meaning it will probably cost 3-4 times as much as the downloadable versions. Still, it's interesting to see Atari digging into their catalog like this. Nolan Bushnell became a member of the current Atari's board of directors a little while back, so I wonder if this is his influence. Will Atari continue to take this direction? Anyway, here is Haunted House's official site and trailer:

Yeah, I'm very intrigued with what Capcom's doing here. It seems to be a Mega Man game full of imagination and creativity, like an editor or something...which you mention. We'll see soon enough.

Well this is going to sadden a lot of people here . . . Aquaman is a . . . supporting character in Batman:tBatB not a playable character.A supporting character are chosen at the start of the level, and can be called in to perform an attack that hurt enimies on the screen. Captain Marvel and Booster Gold are also confirmed support characters.

Aussie-Nintendo reports another GameFly listing for Centipede on the DS. Curious. Will this be a remake like Haunted House, or is it somehow related to the Atari's Greatest Hits packages? (And if it's not a remake, then why wouldn't it be on Greatest Hits?

Atlus announced a new game by the makers of the PS2 RPG Radiata Stories. Titled Radiata Historia (same naming conventions that gave Monolith Soft's Xenoblade its name - it isn't a continuation of the last series the director worked on, but for some sort of similarity, is more of an extended association...or something XD ), it's looking pretty solid so far. Yoko Shimomura's on the soundtrack, sample here. Battle system explained here with screens here. Whew. Also, Super Street Fighter IV 3DS has had its site debut today, which you can peek at here. Those screens look pretty impressive for a handheld!

According to Kotaku, the Dragon's Lair company Digital Leisure is planning to release the Dragon's Lair Trilogy for the Wii later this fall for $29.99. The package will include Dragon's lair I, II, and Space Ace. The games will also have "watch mode" and a "beginner moves guide". I don't think I would pay 30 bucks for these games. I appreciate them as classic arcade novelties (and I do kinda like Dragon's Lair II), but the fun wears off after about five minutes. Still, I wouldn't mind picking up a collection like this if I saw it on clearance at Toys R Us.
