I talked about Radiata Historia a bit back, but some staff confirmations hit the web today, and the key for my interest zooming up tenfold is the addition of Persona 3/4's battle planner Sawao Kato taking on the same duties here. P4 had one of my favorite battle schemes in a RPG ever, so this is fantastic news. Other Megaten staffers are on board, too. Way to make me drool, Atlus. XD

More Monster Tale footage and info!
I haven't watched the footage but I assume it's just as awesome as last time.
- Peter Ong thinks his team may have gone too far with the difficulty in Henry Hatsworth - Much gentler learning curve for Monster Tale - Long-term strategic elements for Chomp - Chomp starts off the game as a hatchling - As a hatchling, Chomp can’t do much except float around and attack - Chomp gets experience points that unlock new abilities, stat-boosting traits, and alternate evolutions as he intervenes on the top screen - Direct Chomp’s priorities with evolutions - Make Chomp more aggressive, more defensive, or more skilled at long-range combat with evolutions - Each evolution form provides different abilities - If you stick with a form long enough to master its abilities, you can equip them to Chomp’s other evolutions - Some abilities change Chomp’s AI behavior - Most evolutions are special moves that Ellie can use in combat by equipping them to a button combination - Chomp can also interact with objects Ellie drops from the top screen - Examples of object interaction: Kicking soccer balls at foes, bombarding the battlefield with a toy catapult - Game has cute touches, like when Chomp puts on reading glasses when Ellie drops a book
This information comes from Peter Ong, DreamRift/Monster Tale developer…
“We feel very privileged to have the opportunity to express our appreciation for the best 2D games by exploring new ways to evolve their foundation, especially in an era in which those principles may be forgotten or ignored.”
“I believe that people want to be challenged, but that a game should communicate clearly, ramp up difficulty smoothly, and provide what the player needs to succeed as long as the player contributes to their own fair effort.”
“As Chomp grows and his abilities become more formidable, he becomes more and more crucial to protecting Ellie. These aspects of their relationship allow us to tell a story with some unexpectedly emotional moments.”
“I’ve become quite attached to Ellie and Chomp, and I feel quite the obligation to do them justice with the game that they deserve.”

According to GoNintendo, Square Enix has just opened up a Japanese SaGa portal site, and this teaser site is part of it. Perhaps a new SaGa game is in the works? Unfortunately, being that it's a Japanese teaser site, it would have nothing to do with a North American release of SaGa 2 DS. But I gave up hope for that a long time ago.

Hey remember that rumour about a Megaman MMO some Korean company was putting together? Well they released an animated teaser. I see classic Megaman and a bunch of Megaman X NPCs, so perhaps this game will tie the two series together.

That Mega Man trailer is pretty awesome - kind of wish it had a broader release.

A Bangai-O game called Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. I'am not sure if it is a new game or a remake but something about the name makes me guess its the latter but I'am probably wrong. LOS ANGELES – August 31, 2010 – D3Publisher (D3P), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, today announced Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury, an innovative and insanely addicting arcade shooter combined with puzzle elements, that launches exclusively on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in North America this fall! True to the franchise, Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury features a sensory overload of thousands of missiles, more than 100 levels, and includes a Level Editor Tool which allows players to create and share levels with friends online over Xbox LIVE®. Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury is under development by renowned Japanese developer, TREASURE Co., Ltd., and is currently rated “RP” by the ESRB.
About Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury is the latest in the Bangai-O franchise, available for the first time on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and provides gamers with addictive shooter gameplay and a sensory overload of fireworks onscreen, with strategic and tactical elements and TREASURE’s original design style that includes fruits for rewards. Priced at 800 Microsoft Points for Xbox LIVE Arcade, the game offers hours of addicting gameplay, at a great value, to satisfy shooter and puzzle game fans. Source: D3Publisher PRGot this from Gaming Everything. I just hope this comes to PSN as well, I loved playing the hell out of the original (Dreamcast version) and the sequel. The Treasure people are gods! .

According to GoNintendo, the new SaGa game is for the DS. And based on the "3" in the magazine scans (and the screen shots in the corner), it's probably a remake of SaGa 3 (aka Final Fantasy Legend III) from the original Game Boy. Since SaGa 2 DS didn't make it over here, I think it's unlikely this one will. (Altho I'm surprised that they're doing another SaGa remake since the last one didn't sell too well in Japan.) Also, SaGa 3 is the most un-SaGa-like of all the SaGa games, and plays more like a traditional Final Fantasy game. (It was originally developed by the same team behind Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, with little-to-no involvement from Akitoshi Kawazu.)

Here is some art and screenshots of the SaGa 3 remake, just because it looks so cool. I wonder if Gen Kobayashi is working on it again.

Well, gives them more time to polish it up. Unless ofcourse it's delayed so the game doesn't compete with other major releases 'round Christmas... In other news there's some Megaman Universe trailers on IGN and Gamespot. They start out the same, but show off different footage/characters. Megaman... looks weird. Graphics are half 2D/3Dish which don't go very well together. Seems like it's basically a beefed up Megaman: Powered Up with focus on level editing. In other words DAY ONE PURCHASE YEEAAAAAAAH
