I am a fan of both Nintendo and some old Maxis games. I never played SimTunes, the cool little game where you make music by letting things wobble around the screen, but check out this! "SimTunes: Originally a Super Nintendo game called Sound Fantasy. It was completely finished and almost ready to ship when Nintendo pulled the plug on the project. It is a music game that is a successor to Mario Paint. A nice tool for "painting" music. You program lots of bugs that make music as they move and interact." How did Maxis buy this one? SimTunes was released in 1996. Weird.

It's true... Nintendo actually had the completed game ready, but decided against publishing it at the last second. Maybe Mario Paint didn't do that well after all? Who knows.
So the game was snatched up by Maxis for SimTunes, simple.
And now the guy who developed Sound Fantasy has developed Electroplankton, and Nintendo has finally published him. Whooooo!
