There's a possibility for Captain Rainbow to be released in Europe. You know, NoE has an eye for strange and bizarre games like Kurukuru Kururin, Doshin the Giant, Animal Crossing GC (yes, it got released almost two years later at and that time it was considered a strange and unknown game), Odama (it even got released in Europe first), Tingle in Rupeeland...
The game has its chances, being a first party game with Nintendo characters and such.

Smashchu, you have to realize. Melee has been out for seven years, and Brawl's only been out for a couple months, yet its already surpassed Melee sales in Japan. I seriously doubt when people saw that first trailer at E3 '06, that they were like "Oh wow! Wario! I need to get a Wii to play this game!" Here is the thing Something like ading a third party character will probably not greatly affect sales. I'm sure the majority of people knew they were buying SSB3 before it was even announced. One thing with Melee is it sold slowly though it's entire life. Brawl sold great and is starting to cool down. Of course, it may be too early to tell, and I don't have Melee's numbers week by week. The thing I dfo know is Brawl is looking like it might start halting. But, if Brawl sales beat Melee's, it wont necessarily be Snake or Sonic being the reason for the boost. It is more likely due to the Dojo, the Wii's larger install base, and the fact that Smash Bros games always go up in sales. Here is the thing Notice right there, how you use the phrase 'won't necessarily mean' - because you don't actually know why people bought Smash Bros. And, save for some sort of worldwide consumer survey that has to reach every Brawl owner, we'll never know.

And, save for some sort of worldwide consumer survey that has to reach every Brawl owner, we'll never know. Can anyone know for sure, not really. But we can see what is most likely, and a single character (or two) is probably not the case. Most of the time, game features mean very little. The average consumer will know very little about the nuances of a game or product. If it was a big selling point, we'd see higher PS3 sales. SSBB sales are probably going to be around Melee's. So, this would imply that nothing helped increase sales. At the same time, if sales end up being higher, it's for bigger reasons. The Wii's higher install base, the Dojo website generating interest and the fact that the franchise seems to go up rather then down. When talking sales, something like a new character wouldn't matter only to the people who will buy the game anyway. When it comes to sales, the little things matter, well, little. Things like price, target audience, advertising, hype (to some degree although it's changing), name recognition and user base play a large roll in how a game sells. If it comes between these and something like an extra character or new feature, then expect the former.

Speaking of bizarre games, is it just me or did ChibiRobo seem to sell poorly in the USA?

Here's some pictures of the game taken from Amazon's Japanese site. (I don't think it's possible to remove the white borders, unfortunately). Birdo in a cage, there is something colourful in the top right corner though. Nick being swung through the air as he tries to operate some levers on a mechanical torso that hits golf balls. Ummmm, I don't know. Though there are those strange white rabbit like creatures with yellow ears watching in the background (and one with a moustche. Those creatures appear in other screen shots as well. Anyone know if she is a Nintendo character? Not much, but Mappo can be seen and two of those strange white rabbits with yellow ears can be seen. Nick helping Fat version of Little Mac lose weight, notice the kilo calories meter at the top right corner of the image.

I think that golfer in the second pic is our first glimpse at Otsu-san from Famicom Golf. As for the Japanese lady, was there a female character in Takamaru's game?

If it was a big selling point, we'd see higher PS3 sales. Eh? Are you saying the PS3 would be selling better if Snake was a big selling point? You're aware that the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 more than doubled PS3 sales, right? Also, The average consumer will know very little about the nuances of a game or product. At the same time, if sales end up being higher, it's for bigger reasons. The Wii's higher install base, the Dojo website generating interest and the fact that the franchise seems to go up rather then down. I can not be the only one who sees the massive contradiction here. Snake and Sonic are selling points. Of course they wizzleing are. Have you looked at the back of the box? There's more space dedicated to telling us that they're in the game than there is telling us what the game is.

Anyone know if she is a Nintendo character? Hikari from Shin Onigashima (Famicom Disk System). She is actually one of the very first confirmed characters (in Famitsu magazine).

I love how Little Mac's boxing ring shows what he's supposed to look like normally...but it's nothing like what he originally looked like!

If it was a big selling point, we'd see higher PS3 sales. Eh? Are you saying the PS3 would be selling better if Snake was a big selling point? You're aware that the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 more than doubled PS3 sales, right? Not Snake, talking about Blu Ray Also, about MGS4, it was also the fact that is was bundled and you could get a 100$ gift card if you bought it at Wal-Mart, making it cheaper then a Wii. The game it's self only sold 2million, so it didn't push as many consoles as you'd think. Doubled isn't a real number. If I double 1 I still only have 2. There's more space dedicated to telling us that they're in the game than there is telling us what the game is.[/quote] Refresher course. -Brawl is projected to meet Melee sales, but probably wont beat them by much. -The Wii has a higher user base then the Gamecube -While not proven yet, the franchise seems to be going up rather then down (Metal gear Solid and God of War are examples of franchises that are going down. Halo is an example of one going up) -SSB3 was a very anticipated title by many people even before it was officially announced. Now why the Dojo. If you saw the final post when weekly updates end, you'd know why. The Dojo basically generated interest a crossed the internet, which got more people interested in the game due to it being the topic of daily discussions. Thus, it would get a lot more people interested. To sum this up "If you hear hooves, think horses. Not Zebras." The obvious reasons Brawl is selling well are higher install base, hype, and the franchise remains on the rise. There is no evidence to back up that Snake and Sonic would increase sales. MGS has been having a dwindling fanbase, and those people are not the game's target audience. The people who would make a big deal about it are the people who are Smash Brothers fans, and like I mentioned, they would have bought the next title anyway. The things I mentioned are what drives sales, and you can look at numerous titles and see these constants. This is why I stress it. Sales are driven by factors like these. Characters matter only to the buyers who would have already bought the title. One character isn't going to generate enough interest for the person to buy the title (and probably the system).

-While not proven yet, the franchise seems to be going up rather then down (Metal gear Solid and God of War are examples of franchises that are going down. Halo is an example of one going up) I understand when you say MGS is going down (4 was the last game according to Kojima ) But God of War? GoW3 is one of the most anticipated games for the PS3, and every GoW game released has been praised by everyone (including me)! Which is more than I can say for Halo. How can Halo be going up when I heard 3 was terrible! All people use it for is online. I heard 3's story could be beaten in a couple hours...
