Another screen. I'm still trying to force my brain to believe this isn't an incredibly well done joke.

My god. Just yesterday I was thinking that DK should be an opponent in this.
It is a sign. I must possess this game.

That's fantastic. Best roster in any Punch Out!! game. I'll buy it this week for sure.

Not only is my favorite Punch Out character (and twelfth Nintendo character) Doc Louis in, but other favorites Great Tiger, Don Flamenco, and now Bear Hugger (who is immediately my favorite after just fighting him a bit in SPO)... but DK. Donkey Kong. This is so perfect.
Aran Ryan looks kickass too. And I hope the other two apparent Nintendo cameo characters are like, Dedede and Wario. Or Pro Wrestler Starman, SPO boxer, maybe Captain Falcon (guess his special). And we get unlockable Ref Mario.

Now there's one question that's bothering me: is this a sequel? If yes, then what Punch-Out!! game does this take place after? If after the SNES Super Punch-Out!!, then I guess this idea I made below would be nearly useless. If between the NES and SNES games in the series, or if it's a remake, then it's okay. If this game sells well, then will there be a Super Punch-Out!! remake or sequel? If so, then it should have more than one playable character to choose from with different move sets, and two of these characters should have names: the Wire Boxer (arcade versions and Arm Wrestling) and the prototype of the SNES protagonist. Now for the next one, this is a tough one. Should the SPO remake have Little Mac in his NES look, or his SNES look? Most fans would want him unchanged and keep Doc Louis with him, but since this is about remaking SPO, I believe NLG should either call the SNES boxer "Little Mac" with a plot explaining why his look was changed and whatever happened to Doc Louis, OR give the SNES boxer a different name and try to fix the plot to make it connect accurately to the Punch-Out!! Wii's plot, like make him either a relative, friend or rival of Little Mac. Also, the boxers should be several SNES SPO boxers who couldn't appear in the Wii game, some that return from the Wii game, and some new ones. I wish that Genyo Takeda and Makoto Wada returned to some software business to make sure the series makes plenty of sense when connecting each other. Why not Fighter Hayabusa? He is the main icon/mascot of Nintendo's Pro Wrestling. Even though, Starman is easier and more popular to use, it's like making Yoshi the main icon/mascot of the Mario Kart series instead of Mario, because most people consider Yoshi to be one of the best (if not the best) characters to choose from in the Mario Kart series.

It would be awesome if there is some sort of secret password mode that would allow us to access other Nintendo characters on the PO disc at a later dates, sort of like a DLC system but avalible to everyone without online access.

Now there's one question that's bothering me: is this a sequel? If yes, then what Punch-Out!! game does this take place after? I have always contemplated these canonical, difficulties. Diddy Kong Racing DS is a good example, of whether or not the events of the previous game should or shouldn't be considered canon anymore or how and where this game takes its events. The commercials make it seem like this is Mac coming back from his old games. If not, I just assume that this is an alternate reality!

I don't think storyline or continuity ever crossed the minds of ... anyone involved with any of the Punch-Out!! games, honestly. Video of Donkey Kong in action.

Well, since Shigeru Miyamoto is producing it, he probably messed up the plot of the entire Punch-Out!! series. Most people are saying it's a sequel, but it looks more like a remake. Much like how most movies and television shows based on and simply named after old-school classics are still being made today. And coming soon, G.I. Joe and The Thundercats movies, along with Konami's ReBirth series. People are running out of ideas.

Plot seems pretty simple to me: Little Mac takes down Mr. Dream (or Iron Mike, whichever.) He loses a bout for the championship to someone who rose up to the top shortly after he did (commercials make me wanna say King Hippo.) He quits fighting for some time. Some time later, the blonde kid shows up. End of the road, he, too, becomes champ and loses, I'm guessing to Mr. Sandman, and thus himself quits boxing, permanently in his case. Mr. Sandman defends for an unknown amount of years, when suddenly, Little Mac comes back to reclaim his title, and so we get Punch-Out Wii.

I don't understand what the story contradiction is. If this game does take place after SNES Punch-Out!!, what difference does that make? Somebody explain, please.

Parrothead, seriously, stop thinking everything needs to make sense. =D Miyamoto produced it, and in Galaxy all he did was give little hints. I doubt he did the story.
And Starman's the only wrestler I remember the name of.
And the video's amazing.

I think this is a new Little Mac.
