Not only is my favorite Punch Out character (and twelfth Nintendo character) Doc Louis in, but other favorites Great Tiger, Don Flamenco, and now Bear Hugger (who is immediately my favorite after just fighting him a bit in SPO)... but DK. Donkey Kong. This is so perfect. Aran Ryan looks kickass too. And I hope the other two apparent Nintendo cameo characters are like, Dedede and Wario. Or Pro Wrestler Starman, SPO boxer, maybe Captain Falcon (guess his special). And we get unlockable Ref Mario. Donkey Kong, your dream has finally come true rather than being a spectator.

So how well is Punch-out selling, anyway?

So how well is Punch-out selling, anyway? Bit soon, isn't it? Sales figures are usually only trotted out a couple times a year (unless they're humongous releases). But there's a TV advertising campaign in the UK right now for it (Joe Calzaghe and his son playing against each other, in the style of the more casual game ads), so I'm kinda hoping it's doing well. Because it deserves it. Aran Ryan cracks me up ;D

Only real flaw in the game for me. Whilst I love the fact they speak in their native language, it would be nice to have subtitles to know what they're saying. After all, knowing is half the battle.

It's nice to hear that, but there wasn't a single mention about the protagonist of the Super NES Super Punch-Out!! being Little Mac or not. However, when comparing these... ...to these, it made me believe that the old Little Mac is to the Punch-Out!! arcade protagonist, while the new Little Mac is to the Super Punch-Out!! arcade protagonist. Different look, same colored gloves. But why wasn't Little Mac's name mention? Most likely, they were rushing the Super NES game and Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II simultaneously. It would be nice to have another Super Punch-Out!! either for the Wii, DS or any upcoming handheld or home console, but that's probably less likely, because I heard that they tried to put the Bruiser brothers in Punch-Out!! Wii, but after I read this from an interview with one of the Wii title's producers, Ken Yeeloy, about the Bruiser brothers: SourceThis makes me think that the Wii title is as far as the Punch-Out!! series will go. Will there be another StarTropics? I'm pretty sure Zoda's Revenge is the last. I heard that it was just made for European, American and Australian Zelda-holics/adventure-holics.

We thought Computer Othello was the first, but Miyamoto said it's actually EVR RACE, which was released back in 1975, three years before Computer Othello. They also said that Nintendo's first game designer was Takeda himself, before most people thought it was Gunpei Yokoi. Holy cow, that even predates the Color TV Game. Well, then Fryguy has at least a new forgotten game for NinDB. I noticed pretty much nothing of such advertisement in Germany (even if Nintendo announced advertisement for "Europe").

Nintendo had a few of these before Computer Othello was released, including Wild Gunman and Shooting Trainer. Computer Othello is credited as being Nintendo's first "typical" videogame, as in using pixel graphics and not using mechanical components.

It's an ongoing canonical debate about whether the boxer in Super Punch-Out is Little Mac, despite neither the game, manual nor Japanese website mentioning it. The only time he has been referred to as "Mac" was in his 3D appearance in Fight Night Round 2. I am of the opinion that Little Mac from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Punch-Out Wii is the only named protagonist, and the others are simply nameless boxers.
