IGN has 3 new movies, that aren't off screen and you you can hear the background music for the tracks. The snow covered track (Little Ladybug video) has some awesome techno/electronic music. I would love to hear that track in a future SSB game. Also showcases some of the other power ups in action such as the "butterfly rescue/sunflower", "dart board" and the "tamborine" in action. Go here.

Well here's a sample of Nintendo Power review for ExciteBots:TR.
"With vehicles designed to look like a mouse, a bat, a centipede, etc., Excitebots: Trick Racing (the sequel to Excite Truck) wears its freakiness on its sleeve. In a single lap you might knock a soccer ball into a net, bat a home run, go fishing, ram through bowling pins, throw a pie at a giant clown face, and speed along a zip line to collect food to make a sandwich, all while rushing forward at F-Zero-type speeds, performing stunts, and turbo-boosting into some of the biggest and most expletive-inducing jumps ever seen in a racing game. All of these crazy elements work together surprisingly well; you'll string together stunts and events into impressive-looking laps that are almost as fun to watch as they are to play.
The game's motion controls work great with either the wii remote or the Wii Wheel, and are a little bit more forgiving than in Excite Truck. And although the points needed to unlock new bots and other items are earned at an annoyingly slow pace, the variety and plenitude of unlockables provides a nice incentive to play for a long time. Most of the in-race minigames (like the aforementioned bowling) are also featured in extra modes that, like the main game, can be played with one or two players. Six-Player Wi-Fi racing is also supported, but we weren't able to give it a go in time for this review.
We rated Excite Truck an 8.5 as a Wii Launch title, and although Excitebots is better in ever way, it scores a tad lower due to today's stiffer competition (namely Mario Kart Wii). Excitebots is a required title for Excite Truck fans, and if you missed out on the first game or afforded it only a cursory look, I strongly urge you to give Excitebots more of a chance.
8.0 out of 10."

That's why I hate reviews. They let the competition impair their judgment on a game.
"I could give Excitebots a better score but because Mario Kart is better, I won't"
I mean how stupid does that sound?
It still got a really good score despite this.

Review scores are total bullshit anyway. I hate it when a game gets a really high score just because it's part of a popular franchise, for example Mario and Zelda. If Mario Galaxy actually starred Crash Bandicoot or whatever while the rest of the game was mostly the same it wouldn't have a metacritic score of 97 I bet. Screw ratings, I just read the actual reviews and form my own opinion, and from what I've read so far Excite Bots seems pretty EXCITING.

That's why I hate reviews. They let the competition impair their judgment on a game. "I could give Excitebots a better score but because Mario Kart is better, I won't" I mean how stupid does that sound? It doesn't sound stupid at all. It happens all the time, for right or wrong. Games have always and will always be compared to other games that are available. Some publications will compare launch title x to other games available on that system at launch, rather than comparing them to games as a whole. That's why launch titles are usually such massive sellers. But even then, reviews and gamer opinions are always tied to other games. Super Mario 64 isn't as good as Super Mario Sunshine, but it was groundbreaking and unique at the time, while Sunshine wasn't. If they had been released in reverse order, it'd be interesting to see whether opinions also differed. So Excitebots might be better than Excite Truck, but Excite Truck had an inflated score due to being a launch title, and the Wii racing genre HAS been bettered meaning future games have to try harder.

Games have to be compared to get a general measurement. Without other games, an extremely boring game can be given a perfect score.
Though I agree that you should not give a game a lower score because another game is better.

EB:TR website has had a major overhaul. Now able to look at the "Bots" stats, info on mulitplayer and racing minigames (nothing new there unfortunately). Also looks like this nice little Wiimote sticker is going out to the press. Source.
