Then again, TN is the company that made jigglephysics the phenomenon it is today, so it shouldn't be that surprising. Yup that's a real ad. Stupid Samus freakout aside, the main thing that bothered me watching that Other M clip was Ridley. There's something off about him. I think it's his head. It's so tiny.

I thought this would be the first game to present Ridley as an intelligent being, but I guess not. God his mouth looks like a banana peel!

In other TN breast releated news, word has it that Dead or Alive on the 3DS will also have boob motion due to the gyro/tilt sensor.
So does anyone here have the game yet. I'm personally going to wait for price drops down here. Since MP3:C dropped dramatically in price after one year here, which is very rare. Current reviews I'm heard are giving the game mixed reviews, but most seem to be generally positive. While both Kotaku and Silconera praise the game for being "brave" and "doing something different" with Metroid.

Hmm. I have mixed feelings about this now. The gameplay looks like it's pretty much what I wanted Prime to be way back when it came out, but... what have they done to Samus...?
Ridley looks the same as usual to me, what am I missing.

Ridley looks the same as usual to me, what am I missing. Ridley gained bigger biceps that makes his head look smaller compared to other versions, which I personally find odd. Also I complain about inane shit Anyway I just placed my order. Hope the 2D bits are good ol' fun. Also I have to know if REMEMBA ME guy's gonna make it through, though I have a feeling he and his team are only there to be killed off so Samus can have her little NOOOOOOO!! moment.

I am pretty sure Samus was ordered around by men way back in the first four Metroid games when she was ordered to go to Planet Zebes and SR388. NO! Samus is supposed to be strong, assertive, independent and fearless female bounty hunter that she decided all on her own without any man ordering her around to go to Planet Zebes to hunt some alien wildlife for the lulz and then go to SR388 to drive an entire species to extinction for moar lulz and then go back to Planet Zebes to hunt some more alien wildlife and then blow up said planet into smitherseens for even moar lulz and then go back to SR388 with her male cohorts (because she is clearly the leader. Go! Girl Power!) to hunt some more alien wildlife for the lulz only to get infected with AIDS and anti-lulz.
And Ridley looks better now. He doesn't have a pencil neck anymore. Now his neck will be able to realistically support his giant head.

Wow. I never realised you were so sexist, Arcadenik. I haven't read the comics, but I'm pretty sure her fighting the Space Pirates on Zebes was more to do with the fact that the Space Pirates had killed her parents and were now ruling over the Chozo planet she had been trained on. Or do you think she'd need a man's permission to sort that mess out? Ridley also... looks silly. He used to look badass and scary... now he looks like a Power Rangers villain.

I don't really see how her taking orders from superiors is sexist- and hear me out on this. Zero Mission and Super Metroid were different- that was her as revenge driven and a bounty hunter. This is her working alongside the federation. She should be expected to obey a CO, just like any other soldier would.
It isn't like this is her normal forte, is what I'm saying.

That was ridiculous on the developers' part. Samus does not need permission to use her powers but it wasn't the first time. Remember Metroid Fusion when she could get her powers only if the Galactic Federation sent her data to access her powers? Anyway, that was just an excuse plot point to force the player to start with nothing and progress through the game to get more powers but it had unfortunate implications. Also, let's not forget that Samus is in the Galactic Federation so of course she would be expected to follow orders from her superiors regardless of their genders.

Don't soldiers have to get permission before certain weapons are used? I'm asking- I really don't know. That's what it seemed like to me.
And I actually didn't know Samus was an actual part of the Galactic Federation. I thought she was freelance.

I thought she was freelance, too... unless she decided to join with the Galactic Federation to help them out in this specific mission... but it is not her mission, it is their mission so Samus would have to follow their orders. And even if she is in the Galactic Federation, she still would have to follow their orders. If it was Samus's mission and the Galactic Federation interfered and took over, it still wouldn't be sexist because the same thing would have happened to a male private investigator and the FBI or the CIA took over his case (analogy).

A soldier taking orders from a superior officer isn't sexist. But Arcadenik was laughing at the idea that Samus would do anything without a man (not a superior officer) telling her to do it. That's pretty damn sexist. Samus has never been a member of the Galactic Federation army. She's always been a solo bounty hunter, paid to take on certain missions, but still being her own boss and deciding her own course of action. And IIRC, she didn't need permission to use her weapons in Fusion, she just needed to reinstall them all after they had been stripped from her suit and taken to various places on the station to study the X-Parasite.

I personally don't consider the game sexist. I just find Samus' portrayal in the game as a completely different character than what previous games in the series has defined her by. This is not a wise choice. Sure, it's a reinvention, but Samus has always be a lone hunter traveling the galaxy, saving planets and destroying Metroid's from behind a curtain while a decimated military probably takes the credit. Samus was raised by the Chozo. Hell, she's hardly even human with the Chozo and Metroid DNA fused into her system. She should be able to handle anything without breaking a sweat. But the way I've seen her in cutscenes and the way she talks on and on and on and on, I just want to slap some duct tape over her mouth so I never hear that monotone drone again. Also... Cannot unsee, dammit.

To be fair, we've never really heard Samus speak outside of intro monologues or even see her emote for that matter, so any conceptions about her personality were purely fabricated by us.
Or am I wrong about that?
