Apparently Nintendo Australia gave me some kind of Malware.
Those jerks.

...Got the game, now at the middle of World 2. I do like the challenge it gives.
I'm liking 5-4 and 8-7 the best so far.

en.justin.tv/clip/0865aa52c3a77f7fMultiplayer fail. I'm still working on the game. The tension given by the game is quite good, although it's still one of the games that fall in the "you'll never get a game over" catrgory.

I had 30 mushrooms in storage, and World 8 just guzzled all of them. It's a good thing they're so easy to farm (thank you, World 6)...
Anyway, currently fighting Bowser. XD

World 6 is awesome for Mushrooms. Them Bullet Bills think they're so tough!
I currently have every Star Coin and Secret Exit on Worlds 1-6 and am most of the way through World 7 as well. And not a single guide has been read or video watched. ;D
This Mario game is lasting me quite a while...

...On the way of World 4 (I do them alternatively after skipping stages and cleared the game first)
Wendy's fortress is made of pure evil. The third Star Coin took me a few tries.
...And I cleared World 8 because I love 9-8 so much.

I've beaten Bowser, and I loved the scene with the Koopalings at the end...and the credits! Oh man, I never thought interactive credits could be that fun. I need to get some other people involved in that so we can dick each other around without any negative reprecussions.
Right now I'm working on Star Coins. I need a couple more in World 7 that I don't look forward to getting (the Ghost House and the second Castle), and all of the ones in 8-7 (the lava coaster), which is doable, I just need to time my jumps properly.

9-4...man. The Star Coins in that stage are insane. XD
Otherwise, I'm working through World 5's Star Coins now.

That might come a bit late, but on the relationship between Bowser and the Koopalings again: At the Japanese Virtual Console site for Super Mario Bros. 3, Larry refers to Bowser as "オヤジ" ( oyaji) in a speech bubble, which means "dad." (info from Japanese Wikipedia, I can't copy and paste the text in the speech bubble to run it through a translator, but the word oyaji is there).

From Wikipedia: So Larry was basically calling Bowser "old man".

100% done now. The game was.... at moderate difficulty. Easier than Galaxy 1, for sure. 9-4...man. The Star Coins in that stage are insane. XD Otherwise, I'm working through World 5's Star Coins now. I SECOND THAT. 9-4 is also the last stage I played. Other crazy Star Coins I saw include #3 of 3-F and, for some reason, I can't get #1 of 3-5 without multiple tries.

I have now opened all the stages in World 9, but haven't gone through and claimed all the Star Coins in those yet. That's the next challenge! I also unlocked the Parabeetle and Dragon-coaster stages (World 7 & 8) in my search for those last few Star Coins. That Dragon-coaster stage is insane! Reminded me of Donkey Kong Country's minecarts.
This game is hard... for a Mario game. Getting the Star Coins makes it harder, and attempting to play with other players makes it harder still. I've played through the entire game so far with my girlfriend (with occasional coins hunts being handled alone).

Quick question - anyone see any Shyguys in the game? I don't honestly remember see them anywhere.

No, no Shyguys in game. Not in any of the 77 levels.
Got 99 lives for all 4 characters with Propeller Mushroom equipped. Next things to do: 99 on all items, 99999950 points (why can't the game count to 99999990 is a mystery), rescue a Toad in all 9 worlds (Done that for W1, W5, W7, W8, W9 so far), grab a Star and clear all possible enemies and I'll call that my version of a perfect save file.
