Hey, the Kidvania idea sounds good. Yeah, it makes sense. Remember how annoying and boring it was to have to shoot respawning enemies over and over just to get hearts and points? Maybe Konami can make it better and fun like in Castlevania, that would be great.

For creating this next Metroid, I would say either buy the now defunct 3D Realms or get SEGA/Sammy to help.
For other games, I would say G-Mode. Paon is part of Nintendo and they bought the rights to Data East's Chelnov (a.k.a. Atomic Runner) and The Glory of Heracles series, while the The Glory of Heracles DS is announced for release worldwide. G-Mode owns nearly everyone of Data East's library of games. I believe Nintendo, Paon and G-Mode should work on bringing back Data East.

Just got something in mind:
How can we actually get our responces sent to Reggie? It'd be far better than just some dry talking here.

The responses were just supposed to be in comment sections of news sites. Places like Kotaku and Go Nintendo, there's no way for the fans to contact him.

I'd like to see Nintendo team up with Capcom for a NvsC game too, but...well, the Wii still sucks XD My thoughts on the matter are hard to articulate, but thats about what it boils down to. Until Nintendo makes a proper gaming console, we won't see a whole lot of neat stuff. Uhhhhhhh......... they should..... get Sqeenix to make a Zelda game. Yeah. *runs* No. Just, no. XD Square can barely handle its own franchises with a modicum of functionality, so I'd dread to see them take on a Zelda game. Then again, most Square games have women of action in them, even if they're intolerable...if they can make a Zelda game where Zelda is useful, I'd at least look into it.

I haven't played many Square games since the old days, so I don't know what their current problems are.

If Zelda could do all that in Melee and Brawl, then why not in any actual Zelda games? That's all I (we?) ask.

Because gamers of all kinds (young, old, male, female, fanboy, hardcore, casual) expect a Zelda game to star Link. So long as people want that convention, and believe it is the only way, we will not see Zelda taking any massive leaps anytime soon. Beside: as cool as it would be to play as Zelda, and I totally agree that a redesign/reimagining with her as the hero would rock, people would just wonder where the hell Link is and get pissed off. You know it's true.

Well, the point was, she actually appears to be the most useless character there is. (Sheik and Tetra don't count; read TEi's speech about it there)
I've always thought that she should cooperate with Link in dungeons together at times, Pikmin 2-style.
In short, not a bazillion unnecessary signs of life in Zelda, just one or two convincing ones.

I call bull on Tei's claim that Sheik and Tetra don't count, but that's just me being an optimist. Some time ago I figured (or maybe it was some other guy) that a Zelda game split into three games where you play as a different Triforce bearer in each would be cool. Imagine: Ganondorf in the protagonist role? What would come of that?

Imagine: Ganondorf in the protagonist role? What would come of that? This certainly isn't a bad idea. Kinda reminds me of Warcraft or Starcraft campaigns as the various races. One could possibly wonder what items and stuff Zelda and Ganondorf would use.

I still think Zelda's in a better position than Peach at this point. And she's the one who helps you defeat Ganondorf at the end of many games lately.
Point is, she may get captured but she proves herself useful and wise.

Not really. Heck, look at Tetra. She got turned to stone for the whole game. Just like Zelda did in The Minish Cap. They didn't even want to have the illusion that Zelda might somehow play a role in the plot. If she was merely kidnapped, then she might actually do something, like send you telepathic hints. That would be her contributing. When she's frozen in stone, then we can just forget about her until the end of the game. Much more convenient.
