Managed to play with TEi on an awesome 24/7 Egypt server, and think I managed to kill him with a flare gun. Sadly even with all the team scrambles we never ended up on the same team. Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that. XD The teams got scrambled a lot, too! as usual I was pretty much a nonfactor due to the combined efforts of my suckage and my laptop's suckage. But soon I should be coming into a system fit for gaming, so I'll only suck by my own merits ;D

Steam sale news!
Psychonauts is on sale for $2:00 US! (Formally $9.99).
Managed to play A Bored Game Dev at TF2. And were even on the same team. Even more strangely, it was on the same Egypt 24/7 server.
Managed to get some good kills in there, though we did get attacked serverly at the spawn points in some games.

Psychonauts is good stuff. The last stage is sucky, and it has some glitchiness, but overall it's worth a play. Inventive level design and some awesome gameplay inside.

Played A Bored Game Dev again, in a bunch of matches of the Arena Watchtower map (TF2). Haven't played that map in ages . . . Somehow through a glitch I managed to get the "Where Eagles Dare" achievement in the spawn room without crouching and only going about 2-3 meters high. Weird.
While last night I got to play the new Highlander mode for the first time. (Highlander is 9vs9 with only one member of each class on each team, There can only be one!) It's a fun mode and feels pretty balanced, just make sure your playing a class your good at though. I managed to obtain the Direct Hit last night as well (using acheveiments). But I still really want the Charge'n Targe for the Demo though, (got the Eyelander through random drop)

I have a couple Eyelanders, I think? I don't remember my loadout, but I remember getting one through a random drop, and then reaching the second Demo milestone last night. (I also lucked out and got the Scottish Resistance in a random drop, which means I now have all of the Demo, Scout, Sniper and Spy weapons.) The Eyelander and Charge'n Targe are really hard to use, which I never expected, judging by how much I've gotten owned by both. I'm going to practice with them until I've got the damn thing right. XD
I got Natascha for the Heavy the other night and I'm absolutely in love. I never really had a problem with Sasha, but exchanging the higher damage for the slow-down effect makes him even easier to use.
I've found a couple of really awesome servers I should share with you guys. One is a Control Points on Junction which uses Bots, so the teams are always full; due to the layout of the level, there are a lot of choke points which are great for killing. There's a crazy-long time limit and no respawn timer, so it's pretty much a crazy deathmatch mode. Another one was a custom-made Control Points level that has really cool people, no time limit, and no respawn timer. The guys I played with were really well-balanced, skill-wise, and we kept going back and forth, one team almost securing a win but being pushed back before they could, only for the inverse to happen. Good times.

Just downloaded the new beta Steam UI and it's pretty damn awesome so far. Also in TF2 news, got a new Backburner from a drop a while ago. And I completed HL2: Episode 1. I forgot it's only about 6 hours long.

Holy Jesus, guys, did I have a great run of TF2 over the past couple days.
First, I've started in earnest to work towards earning the Medic's new weapons. I managed to get the Blutsauger last week and the Kritzkreig yesterday. Unfortunately I'm not a very good Medic, so getting the Ubersaw is going to take some work. XD; I've also been using the Pyro a lot lately, and have been mildly successful; my current favorite tactic is to drop down into a tightly-clustered group and just spin around in a circle while using the flamethrower. This yields a so-so result - sometimes I kill somebody, sometimes I don't. It's satisfying as hell either way.
Second, I scored four random item drops yesterday.
Four drops.
Granted, I didn't need any of them (got my second Charge'n Targe, my third Eyelander, etc. etc.), but they'll be useful for crafting.
Also, I was on Payload Hoodoo last night and there was this guy just bitching endlessly about how unbalanced TF2 was and how lazy Valve had been in making it. Why he was still playing the damn game, I don't know...

GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS.
Recommend me some Dreamcast games. Sonic Toot Toot Racing has piqued my interest in Shenmue, and somebody needs to break it down for me, and then recommend me more Dreamcast games. Right now, I have Jet Grind Radio, Power Stone 2, Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure.

Cool thing about the Dreamcast is you can burn ISO's to CD-R's and play them just fine. It's a good way to play some good Dreamcast games without spending tons of money on Ebay.
Anyways, I'd recommend MDK 2 for your action/platforming needs, Sonic Adventure 2 since you already have the first one, House of the Dead 2 for it's fun rail shooting and lame voice acting, Dead or Alive 2, Soul Calibur, and Space Channel 5.
I didn't really get into Shenmue, I hated the controls.

Want to know what the best Dreamcast games are? Check this out. I admit, Shenmue isn't for everyone. The controls are awkward, and the pace is slow. But I think it's a great "experience" game; and if you like detective stories/games in which you follow leads and track down clues, Shenmue will keep you engaged. I also recommend a few excellent 2D fighting games: Street Fighter Alpha 3, Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves and King of Fighters: Evolution. If you liked the first Crazy Taxi, check out the sequel. It uses a New York-type setting, which isn't quite as interesting as the San Francisco-inspired design of the original, but it's still pretty crazy. Oh, and if you're going to play House of the Dead, you should play it the way it was meant to be played: on the Wii!

I second Alpha 3 and KoF Evolution, but if you can, also track down Last Blade 2. That is one awesome fighter. I need to play it more, myself. Soul Calibur is the best 3D fighter on the console (VF3tb comes close - hate DoA2 ), and if you love the Vs. series, you need both Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 and 2. Worms Armageddon is a fine multiplayer game. And Grandia II is a great JRPG (I know you're weary of those, but this has a solid gameplay engine!). If you want kooky, track down Tech Romancer. It's giant mech goodness. Oh! And Chu Chu Rocket! It's also crazy fun (and I don't normally like puzzlers).

^ The Last Blade 2 is good, but the DC version is pretty bare bones. It's better if you have someone else to play against.
Another game I can't believe I forgot to mention is Project Justice. It's a stylish 3D team-fighting game from Capcom that finds a really interesting compromise between the assist-oriented play of the Versus series, and the turn-based mechanics of King of Fighters. It's fairly pricey if you plan to look for a legit copy, however.

Played TF2 last night on a server with A Bored Game Dev and through a random drop I got the Respectless rubber glove hat. I was really happy about getting that. This is the second hat (random drop hat) I'm obtained. The first was the Scotsman's stove pipe which I didn't like for it's resemblance to the Ghastly Gibus.
