The cameos, for people like Fry, are...
Cynthia from Gen IV, who is battleable and her team switches up to include Gen V Pokemon.
and, rumored, but Blue, from Gen I. He uses a team that mixes all five Gens and is fought to the classic Champion Theme from RBY. Appears in Fall and Winter.
also a rumor Giovanni appears, as there is Rocket music on the soundtrack. This might be as fake as the whole "Hii Region" thing though.
Did anybody find the Hii Region, or was that totally bogus?
Also I predict, here and now, that by the third game in this gen we'll see Dream World abilities be normally obtainable. People will complain waaaay too much that they're hard to get and can't be on Pokemon with properly bred natures and moves. Totally calling it.

Also I predict, here and now, that by the third game in this gen we'll see Dream World abilities be normally obtainable. People will complain waaaay too much that they're hard to get and can't be on Pokemon with properly bred natures and moves. Totally calling it. I'd first like to learn how's the third one determined though. Do you now divide the personality value by 3? If that's not the case (and it remains 50%/50% and a different chance for the third one) and what you suggest were intended to happen, then there wouldn't be an equal probability distribution in the future game (as it's expected that the same data structure remains). The only way would be that, currently, they're 33%/33%/33% and the game restricts the appearance of the third one. As a side effect of that, some Pokémon imported from the 4th generation would automatically get Dream World abilities when evolving. Has it happened in the Japanese game? I think it'd be safer if they created a new method to inherit abilities easily. They did introduce that in Emerald with natures. Let's face it, even if the Dream World abilities were made "standard", you'd still be struggling an additionally 1/3 to obtain the wanted nature/move/ability combination, if you have no control over abilities like it has been so far. But hey, once given, abilities won't be ungiven. They'll remain in the future generations, bonus or no bonus.

Regarding the future... Kyurem, the third dragon legendary that is assumed will be the mascot of the third version, has two secret moves that will likely appear in that eventual version (or parallel games, such as a Ruby/Sapphire remake). They're not part of the Black/White level-up learnset for Kyurem and have only been found by ripping the move data from the game. These 2 moves are called "Cold Flare" and "Freeze Bolt". Cold Flare is an Ice-type move that may cause a burn (and is is Special, like Reshiram's specialty). Freeze Bolt is an Ice-type move that can cause paralysis (and is Physical, like Zekrom's specialty). My theory is that Kyurem will get two new different forms later, maybe one called "Yin" and another called "Yang", each resembling Reshiram or Zekrom in some way (the respective exclusive move, appearance, and maybe even the stats or ability). For more in-game stuff, this page details the "massive outbreak" Pokémon that you'll be able to encounter after the main quest.

I like how Paras and Shroomish are version opposites.

Here are the Pokédex classification names of all the new Pokémon... Some translations may vary slightly from one translator to another.

This is the movie teaser that was shown in Japan after the Zoroark movie (this was first ever appearance of Victini publicly)

From the TVTropes article on Black and White: # The creators stated that the three starters are each based on a different part of the world: Japan, China, and the West (specifically, France). Now, counting the version mascots (and assuming that Kyurem will be the third version mascot), we also have three legendary trios. What are they each based on? Japanese gods, the Chinese concept of Yin and Yang, and the French novel The Three Musketeers.
Wonder if this is intentional?

^ What a good find. I would say it's not a coincidence, but if the Yin Yang Pokémon were really created to be something "higher than the Pangu", then the Chinese part could come from that side too. For people concerned about the ability inheritance issue, Serebii posted this two days ago: Also here's scans from the next issue of CoroCoro, showing Sugimori art of several of the new Pokémon. 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7

Apparently the bug's final form doesn't have a realistic bug head like I've seen in plenty of fanarts, but instead a dopey smiley face. I like it better now

I read that as "deep throat" instead of "deep earth" r456hytrgrfedwtrr. the West (specifically, France). But none of the starters or legendaries look like frogs/surrender monkeys/horny skunks.

Not sure where else to post this, but Takeshi Shudo, one of the primary anime writers of the original series and creator of Lugia, passed away today at the age of 51. Source

Sugimori artwork for all the new Pokémon species (except the event legendaries that are meant to be secret at the moment) has been revealed at the Pokémon Daisuki Club. Bulbagarden already collected them (check the individual Bulbapedia entries or watch them all here). It's expected we'll see them in higher resolution later down the road like in these strategy guide scans: 1 2. By the way, Pokémon.com announced that they'll reveal new Pokémon next Monday (the banner contains the silhouettes of the starters). It's then when we'll finally learn their English names
