While I think that ONM is way off the mark, I have to say I also very much like 'Sudowoodo' as a name. Its fairly clever, it rolls of the tongue, its unique, and its just that little bit goofy, so it works well with the design.
I would also like to add that 'Feraligator' would be one of the greatest Pokemon names ever, but because of the character limit turning it into 'Feraligatr', its awful. I know its almost the same, but that horrible 'tr' ending makes me hate it.

And the Starter names came out:
Nintendo have today announced the official names for the starter Pokémon in Black & White. These three Pokémon are the ones with which you will be starting your game and follow the same Grass/Fire/Water cycle as before. The names are as follows.
First, the Grass-type starter Tsutarja shall henceforth be known as Snivy which is a portmanteau of the words "Snake" & "Ivy". The Fire-type Pig Pokémon, Pokabu, is to be known in English language countries as Tepig which is a play on the word "Tepid" bringing "Pig" into the fold. Finally the Water-type sea otter, Mijumaru, is to be called Oshawott, the full meaning of which we are trying to determine but it does include a derivation of otter.
The region of Isshu has also been named as the Unova Region. The entire site has been updated to reflect this announcement or click the names to go to their Pokédex entries to see their stats as well as their evolutions
In addition to this, the abilities and classifications for Reshiram & Zekrom have been revealed. Reshiram is the Vast White Pokémon with Turboblaze while Zekrom is the Deep Black Pokémon and has the ability Teravolt
From: Serebii.
SNIVY. I so called the Ivy part. Tepig kinda sucks, IMO. I guess it needs explanations for it to work for me... (cause I'm really not liking it by Serebii's explanation...). I can't really see myself, as a 10 year old, playing pokemon for the first time ever, and choosing the sad otter named Oshawott as my first starter ever. I'd probably go along with the happy pig or smug looking green thing.
EDIT: Suck it. I just had to use a dictionary to find out what Tepid means, and I got to say I kind of like the combination... but it still seems pretty lifeless when you've got that name for a smiling pig. Still, "Snivy" owns it.

Double post, but Smugleaf is now Snivy, Pignition (or, Piglit, which is a much better name for the first stage, the internet as a whole really ballsed that up) is Tepig, and Wotter is now the much more awkward Oshawott. And the region is now called Unova.
I like 'Tepig' and 'Snivy', actually. 'Oshawott' is pretty bad.
EDIT: Beaten. Beaten like an Oshawott.

Tepig, eh? Lame, but hey, say it out loud. Teh pig. Still, mine shall be named "Pignition." I will not back down on that name.

Sorry but Wotter seemed horrible too! Kind of too cheap a pun. And it actually seems to remain in Oshawott, but what I'm liking is the foreign feel of "Osha" which at the same time comes from "ocean"... Reminds me of Oshus from The Legend of Zelda. I expect the evolved forms to include morphemes similar to Hariyama or Makuhita ;D
Names in other languages:
French
Pokémon: Vipélierre, Gruikui, Mustillon Region: Unys
German
Pokémon: Serpifeu, Floink, Ottaro Region: Einall
European Spanish
Pokémon: (remain in English like always) Region: Teselia
Also PokéBeach theorizes that Unova could come from either "United States 'OV' America" or "Unum" + "Nova" ("One New")

WHAT. I could have had FLOINK? NoA, kiss my ass. I will breed Pignition, and its offspring will include Floink, Teh Pig, and Bakin. It's a cheap pun but DAMMIT if I'm not calling one that.

Overlooked the name of the region in Italian: Unima

I like Tepig for the potential it has for increasing the "heat" with each evolution, if you'll excuse the wordplay.

Yeah, Tepig is the only one of those names I'm 100% behind. That is my favourite kind of wordplay. EDIT: I missed this earlier, but... Gastrodon or Bastiodon... "Which one's which again?" Gastrodon is a gastropod and Bastiodon has a head shaped like a bastion. There were plenty I had trouble remembering in the last generation, but I always thought those two were fairly straightforward.

So, given that Zekrom's and Reshiram's classification are no longer Black Yin or White Yang, is that material for this feature?

They aren't? What are they now? (As Shadrio posted) Reshiram will now be called the Vast White Pokémon, and Zekrom will be referred as the Deep Black Pokémon. Not too "deep", huh? Here's the info on the official site for Reshiram, and here's Zekrom's.

Well, people were mostly on the mark with "Smugleaf." I can't say I mind Snivy, but I'll need time to get used to Tepig and Oshawott makes my tongue cringe.
