We have a release date via Official Nintendo Magazine. The game will come out Spring 2011 in both the U.S. and Europe. EDIT: I guess the version mascots are old news. Oops.

I like the angelic looking Reshiram. Zekron, less so. But that picture looks distinctly crappy in quality.

Reshiram has feet reminiscent of Palkia's.
They have opposite skin and version colors, don't they?

Everyone was wondering what we'd get after D/P gave us God (well, technically Zeus, but whatever). Now we have an angel and a demon. Here's betting the the ultimate legendary in the game will be a red bipedal goat creature.

To be fair, wouldn't being able to capture and control the equivalent of Satan to destroy other Pokemon cause one heck of an uproar among the 'Pokemon is evil and satanic crowd'? But never the less, I'm not sure about these legendary Pokemon. They look better than those in Diamond and Pearl, but they seem to have that weird, robotic type look much of generation 4 seemed to have for some reason. Almost as if the designers were trying too hard to make them look 'cool'.
But hey, I'll keep an open mind. And hey, this still raises questions to what other legendary Pokemon could be in the game. Where to go next from these, Arceus and the likely Satan inspired mon will be interesting.

If they didn't cause an uproar about God being a Pokémon, they probably won't about Satan either.
Or they just haven't noticed yet...

What I'm still wondering is what's the point of making the main characters older besides a mere change of look. Is this a slight try to give the franchise a bit more of freedom for controversial matters like that?

I usually hate that 'Pokemon look like Digimon now' comment, but, wow, they look like Digimon.

It's been a while, but my memory of Digimon is that they were all covered in terrfyingly huge throbbing veins.

TRUE God 'mon looks pissed. I like it's design, Dark Palkia... not so much.
Kinda hope they ease down on the legendaries this time around. Gen 4 had 13 new ones, way too many for one friggen' gen. But I'm expecting this gen to atleast introduce 10 stupid new ones. Game needs to cover plenty of future movies afterall!

Well these are covered in a million joints lines and details. Are you serious? Look, I know you hate newer Pokemon designs, but this is ridiculous. Reshiram is a fairly tame design- bipedal creature with drill tail covered in down. I can't even find a joint on him. Zekron is more complicated, thanks to the lines on him, but as it stands, its essentially a dinosaur with wings and a drill tail. Neither are especially complex designs.

I am disappointed that no one has pointed this out yet: C'mon, tell me you don't see it. Hint:
