Pokemon may get a lot of flak for having an audience mainly centered around children. But for many of us who are old enough, we sometimes notice things that are a little disturbing. For instance... - Hypno kidnaps children into the woods using hypnosis where he will continually feed on their dreams for nourishment.
- Anyone who looks inside a Shedinja will have their soul taken out.
- Cubone wears the skull of its mother who died during childbirth.
- Skitty's and Diglett can mate with Wailord *shudders*
- There are FEMALE Mr. Mimes.
- Spiritomb's many connections with the number 108 (Pokedex number, weight, defense, special defense) are significant in that that is the number of tempations a person must overcome to reach Nirvana in Buddhism. Spiritomb was trapped in stone because he couldn't resist them.
- Girafarig's tail has a brain and can process thought.
- Koffing and Weezing are based upon naval mines.
- Mawile is based on Japanese folklore involving a woman who would deceive men into believing she was starving, only to eat all their food with a mouth behind her head.
- There was once a boy who woke up one day as a Kadabra.
- Where does Machoke get those speedos, and why does he need them? Also...there are female Machoke's...

How the hell do you wake up as a Pokemon?!
Also. Look at Khangaskhan joeys. Look at Cubone.
Grimer and Muk may be based on a Japanese mercury disaster that may have killed hundreds. A morbid thing to base a Pokemon on.

[/quote] - So some how the newborn Cubone survives the childbirth (but they lay egggggss . . . ) that killed it mother and then, then cuts off it's mothers head, removes all the flesh and then cleans the skull and then wears it . . . So somehow, a bonesaw or a very sharp knife must be involved somewhere, unless the newborn cubone chews (the mothers head) off, but if a knife was involved it would make Cubone's "bonearang" weapon redundant. [/list] [/quote] They are most likely pubes in the shape of speedos. I just made it worse didn't I? Some other examples - Self-Destruct and Explode attacks, because if I gonna lose, I'm taking you to hell with me. Lose-Lose is the way to go, kids!
- Driftloon will drag children away to the underworld.
- Kangaskan are born with there young in the pouch . . .
- The mushroom on the back of Parasect is parasectic and is controlling the pokemon in a zombie like state (look at it's white pupil less eyes compared to Paras)
- Eggsacute and Eggsactor . . . just look at them? A bunch of GRASS TYPE eggs evolve into a coconut tree. Which then lays an egg (or coconut falls off) that results in six Eggsacute. WTF?
The science side of things
- Pokemon scientist's still don't know where Pokemon eggs come from . . .
- Ponyta's feet are 10 times harder than diamonds, who the hell discovered that . . . ?

Some of this stuff, like the Exeggecute, falls under the gameplay story segregation idea. Like, we know canonically three Magnemites form a Magneton. Ingame? Nah. Ditto for six Exeggecutes gathering together.
Another disturbing fact about Wobbuffet: The most effective way to use it is to purposefully let it get injured. Let that sink in.

Isn't that the only way to use it? I can't think of a particularly useful Wobbuffet move which doesn't require it to take damage or faint.
Drifblim carrying children away into the sky is pretty disturbing.

For more disturbing abilities in the game, what about Pain Split or Perish Song? Taking out every Pokemon on the field in a mere three returns sounds like some terrifying attack to me. Or curse (ghost version) with the nail being driven into the using Pokemon's head.

Disturbing Secret Behind Cubone... Evolution can be corrupted easily, hm?Also I found one link showing t10 most scariest Pokemon ever... Wierd still, they weren't so scary... I'll try to find that link soon-

I've been hearing a lot about that Cubone-baby Kangaskhan thing recently. It's an interesting idea, but if you actually look at it, a baby Kangaskhan looks nothing like a Cubone. It's purple, for a start.  |

- Doduo and Dodrio themselves are kind of creepy. I don't think there's any sane purpose for a creature to have that many dominant consciences. - Combee... It's not a bee, it's a trio of creatures flying together, with only one set of wings and antennae. Also Vespiquen has grubs inside its skirt, and they can attack at times (a Pokémon move is based on this) - Drowzee and Hypno can learn Poison Gas... Those are probably some sort of flatulences. - Stunky's cry also sounds like farts. - Sometimes, three-headed Weezing can be found. - Duskull may actually be that little sphere that poses as eyes... Dusclops can absorb anything into its body, and Dusknoir can communicate with the afterlife. Plus Dusknoir's mouth-like belly may open. - Jirachi's belly contains an eye. - Spoink may die if it stops its jumping. - Porygon-Z... Look at that thing. Definitely an untested upgrade to Porygon2. - Probopass's sub-units may detach to form new Nosepass. - Slowbro can de-volve. - Although in a humorous dialogue in a spin-off game, it was stated Diglett has feet. - Regirock can rebuild its body by using random rocks found on the land. - Messing with any of the lake trio would erase your memory, emotions or mobility. About moves: - Memento is a more-recent move that also makes the user faint. Other even more recent moves are Lunar Dance and Healing Wish. - Milk Drink, on the field, allows you to heal partners of Miltank. However, in battle, it heals Miltank itself (picture that). However there are masculine Pokémon that can be female like your Machoke example or vice-versa. How the hell do you wake up as a Pokemon?! Mystery Dungeon? I actually thought Alakazam was going to be the Pokémon guilty for Gardevoir's fate after learning of Kadabra's entry. It should be noted Mystery Dungeon 1 appeared 2 years later, so it's not necessarily a reference. |

- Porygon-Z... Look at that thing. Definitely an untested upgrade to Porygon2. Porygon-Z is brilliant. Ever since I realised that it's actually just a mixed-up Porygon2, every time I look at it I feel weirded out that it's head is upside down. |

I have superhearts for Porygon-Z. It's everything I wanted from the Porygon line since 1Gen! ;D
Also, from Glalie's Pokedex entry in Sapphire:
GLALIE has the ability to freely control ice. For example, it can instantly freeze its foe solid. After immobilizing its foe in ice, this POKéMON enjoys eating it in leisurely fashion.
It's a given that some Pokemon are going to be carnivorous, but daaaamn...
Also, Electrode is the best kind of asshole:
It is dangerous. If it has too much electricity and has nothing to do, it amuses itself by exploding.

I never realised Porygon-Z was just a failed prototype Porygon 2 (never caught one so never really looked a it or its Pokedex data). Thats cool.

Heh, that reminds me of another: - Gorebyss, although it doesn't have teeth like its counterpart Huntail (and doesn't look that intimidating), may insert its needle-like mouth into its prey and drain its body fluids
I never realised Porygon-Z was just a failed prototype Porygon 2 (never caught one so never really looked a it or its Pokedex data). Thats cool. I reckon they can still make a "Porygon3" in a future game because of how you use a "dubious" device to evolve it into Porygon-Z. Silph Co. could release an official patch or something. |
