I kind of liked when Enguarde gained the ability to charge up his stabbing, but that's just me. And who didn't like the water level song in DKC2?

It's pretty much a fact that water levels have awesome music, no matter what game.

For all you King. K. Rool/Kremlings fans, prepare to be pissed. This tidbit is from the Kotaku link that is in the Gonintendo page I just posted, didn't notice it at first.
"Tanabe did shoot down the possibility of a return of DKC villain King K.Rool. "There will be no alligators in this game," he said."
Until now It was pretty unclear (at least to me) whatever the Kremlings would make some sort of appearence here but now its confirmed that they have been kicked out of the game.
I gonna miss stomping the random Kremlings enemies but on the other hand I never liked or cared much about K. Rool so I'am good.

OMGZORZ BUT HEEZ A CRAWKADEEL HE CAN STEEL B IN RARZORZ.
It is unfortunate that the Kremlings are sitting this one out, but really, it doesn't matter. They didn't cause it this round, so what? We knew it was the Tikis to begin with, that K. Rool has nothing to do with it shouldn't be a problem.

I find it a nice idea for DK to be getting new enemies. The Kremlings may be... "TEH Kremlings"... but everyone needs a new enemy every now and then.
Anyone who writes off the game now, either because there's no Kremlings or because they fear Retro Studios might "ruin" the series... they should go get their dick cut off. We know nothing of the game so far, except that Retro Studios has been working on it for a while now. And by looking at the Demo stage video from E3, it's looking very promising. We also know that Retro Studios does great games *Hugs my Metroid Prime Trilogy box*
Anyway, I liked how they barely showed any type of enviornments DKC1-3 are famous for. Building suspense like that is fun to watch, especially when you watch all the whiny fans clamor for their Tundra Stages and Volcano Stages.

Some people on GameFAQs and such did consider maybe that K Rool and such aren't out based on the fact the creators always used words like 'crocodiles' and 'alligators' rather than 'Kremlings'. Fair point I'd say, it seems they change the wording every interview now, almost as if they're hiding something.
But that's probably being overly optimistic and rather pedantic.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tiki final boss turned out to be King K. Rool in disguise a la KAOS in Donkey Kong Country 3.

That would seem plausible, but again, it's kinda overly optimistic.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tiki final boss turned out to be King K. Rool in disguise a la KAOS in Donkey Kong Country 3. That would be pretty lame if they repeated themselves like that. I think DK could do with a new villain, though seeing the Kremlings appear in some form would be nice.

Personally, I like the idea someone had at another site I read... the Tikis would be the main story enemies, and K Rool would be the villain in the Lost World equivalent. No man behind the man or hijacked by Ganon stuff, just two seperate villain groups without any connection between them.

I don't mind that idea, actually. Or maybe, some sort of New Game + type deal where the Tikis are Kremlings or something.
But it doesn't really matter if they are in or not.

I'm with that. It's not the end of the world if we don't get loads of old enemies returning, but it would be nice if some of them were there, even in minor roles.

I'm personally hoping enemies like Zingers appear in the standard adventure. Even if we don't get Kremlings, it'd still be logical to expect creatures that aren't Kremlings that appeared in the original SNES game, presuming they're native to DK Isle.

Zingers were probably THE most recurring enemy in the original trilogy. I'd be pretty great to see them return, if not some sort of new bee that takes their place (like Buzz in DKC3).
