I dunno, given what jokes are on Adventure Time and Regular Show, Cartoon Network seems pretty loose also. I know... that's why I didn't mention it.

Here's something that hasn't been discussed here: Cars 2.
It opens here in the UK tomorrow, and I already have a ticket. It's the first time I've gone to a movie on the first day of general release (though I was at the Toy Story 3 premiere), and it's because I can't wait to see this movie. Not because I'm excited, but because I'm... apprehensive. This movie seems to have totally polarized the audience. It's pretty much a 50/50 split between critics who liked it and ones who hated it. Though it's leaning very slightly towards ones who liked it.
Looking at the bad reviews, it looks like most of them had decided the movie was bad before going in, or just didn't like the first movie. That's pretty hard to come back from. A lot of the ones who really loved the movie were veteran critics, like Roger Ebert, who gave it 3.5/4 - a higher score than he gave Toy Story 3.
A lot of people are saying that the movie only exists because of the merchandise sales. While that's obviously part of it, I don't think Lasseter would've made the movie if he didn't really believe there was a strong enough story for a sequel. If sales alone were reason enough for him, we'd have seen Toy Story 3 ten years earlier. And we'd probably have Finding Nemo 3 by now, too. The other thing I'm hearing a lot is "Disney made them do it!", which is definitely not true, since Lasseter is in charge of creative output for both Pixar and Disney these days.
I hope I'll enjoy it. I didn't bother seeing the first movie at the cinema because I figured, not really being into cars, that I wouldn't enjoy it. When I finally did see it, it turned out I was wrong. I liked it more than I liked Nemo, Bug's Life or Monsters, Inc. And it's not like I didn't like those three.
EDIT: Yeah, I really liked it.

Looks like the rumors of a CGI batman series may actually be true . . .
Well apart from the fact it's starring Batgirl.
(Footage comes from the very final episode of Batman:The Brave and the Bold).
What's interesting is that it looks better than the GL animated series.

That's just an injoke from the episode. The short is based on the Batgirl: Year One mini by Chuck Dixon, and is likely a jab at the upcoming series- especially since the plot of the episode is Bat-Mite is bored of Brave and the Bold and wants the network to cancel it to make room for a new, darker show- just like they are actually doing.

Seems like the rest of net hasn't caught on to that yet.
Here's an awesome video of Terry Gilliam showing how he creates his bizarre cutout animations. I wonder how hard it would be to use Flipnote Studio to replicate this?
(Slightly NSFW images appear quickly at the start)

Also pretty cutesy Taiwanese short. Don't worry it makes sense at the end

Why does Fionna have a figure but Finn doesn't have to look remotely realistic?

Also pretty cutesy Taiwanese short. Don't worry it makes sense at the end That short was really, really good. In My Little Pony related news . . .Rumor has it that Season 2 could possibly air as early as September 17th. While confirmed info is that the first episode will be a 2 parter called "The Return of Harmony." Also first (short) footage of S2 in this Hub promo. (And slow-mo version)Also Equestria Daily hit 30 MILLION PAGEVIEWS . . . . Holy shiiiiii . . .

Here's something interesting for Nintendo fans...
Walt Disney Animation's next movie, Wreck-It Ralph, is about a villain from an 8-bit arcade game trying to prove he can be a hero. Disney actually made an arcade cabinet version of his game which appeared at their expo last weekend. It's clearly heavily inspired by Donkey Kong and Wrecking Crew.
They also played a few songs from Dr. Mario during their panel about the movie.
