www.glitterberri.com/a-link-to-the-past/the-men-who-made-zeldaSome really interesting stuff in here. Aside from the development process there are some cool tidbits. Like how Bow-Wow and the spinning fire thing from Mario were intended to be stuff in the original Zelda. And how there was supposed to be three worlds in A Link to the Past initially but it was too complicated to design/not enough memory. I wonder if the third world became the Twilight Realm later in Twilight Princess, as it seems the development team for the series likes to implement ideas from the past that they weren't able to do before. A lot of what put in A Link to the Past seems to be dropped stuff from the original Legend of Zelda. I think I understand what Miyamoto meant when he said A Link to the Past is the true sequel to the original even better now than before.

Aha, yes, I saw a link to this yesterday. It's like a retro Iwata Asks ;D
The stuff about the Chain Chomps and Fire Bars was interesting, and I think I may have to add a line into the cameos section to explain. But seeing what thought goes into a game, especially a classic game and one of the iconic titles of my childhood, is great!

Wow, thanks for that. Some great stuff. Its a shame so few Japanese developers take the time to answer retro related stuff.
