Who exactly is this "Someone" and why are you taking what they said as gospel truth?

It's not like Nintendo forgot Lip exists, after all. She even made it into Captain Rainbow.

If anything, she won't be playable because of a lack of ideas for her moveset. Lord knows I can't think of any outside of wacking people with her staff (which is itself already an item that anyone can use).

...and Captain Rainbow is Japan-only. I think the only time Lip has ever been in an international Nintendo game is Super Smash Bros. Brawl and that was only as a sticker (which counts as a cameo). Lip's series is now about the gameplay, not about her character and her storyline. Notice how the latest Puzzle League games don't feature Lip as the main character? The best she has going for her is her cameo appearances in her own series and that's not really saying a lot.

I think the only reason why Lip has a fan demand despite Nintendo neglecting her character (but not her series) is because she is a female character and we apparently "need" more female characters just for the sake of having more female characters. How sexist is that? This is why I disagree with many people who complain about how there is a lack of female characters in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3... I guess Storm, Chun-Li, She-Hulk, Morrigan, etc. are all traps. I'd rather add a female character based on her own merits, not because she has a vagina and a pair of breasts. I don't care what is in between a character's legs because that is irrelevant. With that said, I think the female characters who could be added for their own merits would be Palutena, Medusa, and Dixie Kong.

I didn't take those reasons in that way, I just wondered what you would think about it. I think some reasons were quite offending at some parts.

And for the statement of her having a lack of moveset potential, look at R.O.B. Really, Lip can't be that harder to give moves than R.O.B. It be more preferable that she'd work as a mix of Zelda and Ivysaur by using more flower spells, not just whacking people with her stick.

So do I look like one of those who want her because of female character demand? That's just dirty. (-l_L-) My honest reason to add her in is how she could representate Puzzle League itself, because the series are now being too neglected and on a hiatus. (My Puzzle League DS's getting too old and broken.)
Besides she's one of those famous obscurities of Nintendo who's taken on notice time to time.

Maybe I should just start supporting popularly demanded boys only from now on?

It's quite unfortunate being a fan of Puzzle League though: seems that Puzzle League's dead. The uniqueness of it and how it rivals the other puzzle series has now been forgotten.
Which is why I think Nintendo's never going to consider doing a new installment on the series.

Sorry if I sound like a whining crybaby, but being a longtime fan of the series this really leaves me gloomy. I guess it's back to mainstream gaming.

I personally see Lip being an Assist Trophy, using her wand to make blocks appear and crush some fighters. But one thing is certain for me, I cannot see her as a playable character. But that's just me.

Samus, Ness, Ice Climbers, Marth, Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B. and Pit were all in the same boat when they first appeared in a Smash Bros. game. Didn't stop Sakurai from using them.

Well, I've said this before, but I'll say it again:

What you gotta keep in mind is that character moves don't always have to have a basis on the games. "Staying true to something" isn't exactly copy-and-paste with it.

Lots of characters such as Wario, Fox, Zero Suit Samus, Meta Knight, and even Donkey Kong rely on a lot of mostly fabricated stuff. Sure, you gotta keep most of the character's core fundamentals intact, but if and only if totally necessary, some deviations may have to be made.





While I agree that Lip could benefit from it, I otherwise stand by Shadrio's stance on her being an Assist Trophy, which seems more likely.

I wasn't saying Lip is likely. I was saying Lip is possible. I've seen plenty of good moveset ideas for Lip using things taken right from Panel de Pon, but if needed she could easily borrow some ideas from the many girl anime that she's based on.

If the developers really chose that kind of moveset theme for Lip - Sailor Moonish stuff- The results would be quite... I dunno. (-l~l-)

So at the end Panel De Pon is F-list series. Smash Bros has now A-list and B-list characters mostly, with pints of C-list-franchises. (-l-l-);

I just figured if Sakurai based Captain Falcon on Kamen Rider and other tokusatsu heroes, it would make sense to base Lip on magical girls.
