Oh, that's much more interesting. They have Miiverse messages with these new images?

Yep. I don't have a WiiU (WHO DOES HUR HUR HUR) so I just have to trust the interwebs to relay anything interesting they might say in those captions, though.

You can still read it directly here everyday.

Thanks for the caption!
And on that, I have a favour to ask: Can you please post captions here whenever a new image is up and you happen to be on Miiverse?

Today's image reminds me of Mario & Luigi 1.

The impact-launch effect has been powered up. The assigned color makes it clear which player will get points in the event of a KO.

That's pretty cool, I assume it means that the colours will be of the player who launched the other players (P1 and P4 in the screenshots) and not the players who are actually being launched. The group I play(ed) with was stock only, but it was all about the total kill amount at the end of the day. So the colour effect might be confusing at first, but to us it'll be really helpful.
(Tho I'd rather want them to just add the quick +1 at the bottom icons whenever you KO someone in stock, like in Smash 64)

Honestly, they looked like they were Din and Farore, as depicted in Ocarina of Time, to me for a moment (I saw the image at GoNintendo first, so the image size was smaller). Also, I can't remember what part of Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga that looks like. Maybe I should revisit that game soon.
I also wonder how the new Pikmin 3 pikmin will act in Olimar's moves that use them. Smacking and not latching on was Purple's job, and will the Winged pikmin give olimar some air time? If Rock Pikmin don't latch on, will you be able to grab with them?
I doubt it'll get too complicated...

Do we know that Olimar has the new Pikmin?

So far only the previous five appeared in shots (alright, I'm not sure about purple Pikmin either actually, but white Pikmin did atleast). If they were part of Olimar's moveset I'd figure they would've showed 'em by now, with Olimar's profile page also functioning as Pikmin 3's advertisement 'n all that. Either they're still working on it or they didn't bother updating Olimar's Pikmin types for this version. Hey, it's not like they replaced Mario's fludd with a Galaxy-based attack or anything.
Or maybe there'll be a Pikmin & Alph too, who utilises the new Pikmin instead of white/purple, but I'm not counting on it.

I'm guessing today's image has no significance to the game's mechanics.

Let's stretch our backs.
Just a humorous pic, I guess.
