Love the Lulu costume. Now if only we could play as Mikau, or even the Link transformation of him.

Love the Lulu costume. Now if only we could play as Mikau, or even the Link transformation of him. Oh yeah, baby. A Mikau of some sort would rock my world. Baby! I have a hunch if they did, they'd give it to Link. The basic structure is correct, it'd just be a pretty major recolor. But since Darmani is just a gray-scale Darunia, I dunno. It'd probably look off. And since it'd be a gender flip for Ruto, that'd look even more off. =/

Here's a trailer for tomorrow's DLC pack. One of the costumes is spoilerish, so if you haven't cleared the Twilight Palace level don't watch.

NoA have just announced that Hyrule Warriors WILL be compatible with amiibo, despite Koei saying otherwise a few months ago.

If I was going to buy an Amiibo, it would probably be Link or Zelda anyway. What I'm wondering, tho, is what it's actually going to be used for. Will it simply be for transferring data between games, like if I have a high-level Link in Hyrule Warriors, it can transfer over into a high-level Link in Smash Bros (or Mario Kart)?
In general, I'm not sure if the whole Amiibo thing is clicking with me. They look like neat collectables, but how much are they really adding to the gaming experience?

I don't think they'll be used like that for this game. I think they'll have something to do with the new game modes being released next year.

My first thought was that they could be used to give you a new ally. Place a Link figure on the pad, get a Link ally in your army.

Yeah, after these few games, I don't see Amiibo taking off that much afterwards. Remember the AR function for the 3DS?

Here's the trailer for Link's Spinner weapon. Interestingly enough is that the Japanese HW site seems to imply that Zelda's amiibo will also unlock something in the game.

You mean this? Link and Zelda's amiibo are for unlocking their respective weapons, while others will also unlock weapons, materials and rupees.

Well shit, that's one dream down in flames. EDIT - Siliconera is now saying that Zelda does indeed have a new weapon.

OK, Koei has now said that Zelda's amiibo DOES NOT unlock a new weapon. Everything is exactly as YL said.

It unlocks a weapon for Zelda, but it does not add a new weapon to the game like how Link gets the Spinner.

So... what, it gives her a weapon we already have? Or it gives her a new weapon, but only as long as her figure's on the gamepad? I'm confused.
