Before you enter an episode in Wario: Master of Disguise, you see Wario sleeping in his house. On the top screen, Wario's TV set he wants to travel in is seen. Under certain conditions, various things will appear in Wario's house. One of them is a little Wario figurine on the TV set and I'm pretty sure that it is based on Mario's jumping sprite from Super Mario Bros. It looks like this (but a bit stoutier to resemble Wario more), I'm not able to make screenshots for DS software: Yes, the cap is the same color as his overalls, like for Mario in SMB. I think this does even support the assumed cameo. Sadly, I don't really know when the figurine appeared, but I guess it appears when you get the first title ("Dabbler of Disguise" at £50,000 or more), since a second figurine appeared right after I got the second title (the MarioWiki supports this) And here's another reference, but I don't know if it counts: Stuffy the Dolphin, boss of Episode 8, is deemed to be the "64th ruler of the Dolphinian Empire". A reference to the Nintendo 64?

Also, there is a Game & Watch cameo: One of the treasures is the Game & Watch9000. It's description reads: "An amazing handheld game unit with FIFTY screens! When unfolded, it takes up as much space as a timeshare condo."
The Treasures' descriptions are quite funny. Grandy, the Dolphin might double as a reference to the GC's working title. The 64 just makes the case stronger.

Wow, it's like all three of you said the exact same thing in slightly different ways in order to get credit! Grandy02 WINS! And The Qu wins on the G&W bit exclusively.

w00t! I win at something! ;D Y'know, I just thought of something: Grandy is German. Was the Gamecube ever referred to as the Dolphin prior to it's announcement there? If not, it's possible the link didn't even cross his mind.

If not, it's possible the link didn't even cross his mind. Of course, we in Germany also already knew the GameCube's working title long before its release in Europe, the same goes for the Wii's working title Revolution. Europe isn't an isolated continent. ;D But I didn't thought of the Dolphin in this case before I read your comment, though. About the Game & Watch, I think you can even see on the li'l picture that it is Octopus. But the full credit belongs to you, of course. Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure if Nintendo had called it the Dolphin in Germany and other countries or something else back then. Extra thanks for the sprite as well! The Octopus detail is very cool.

I find THAT highly unlikely. It'll just be a stand.
