I'm saddened to see this forum so quiet. I thought us Nintendo fans were supposed to be insane over classic Nintendo games.
So here's a new topic that isn't a list... well... okay... it kind of is.
What classic Nintendo games would you like to see revived on a modern console, how do you think they should play, and anything else important (maybe even what company you think would work best on it). Here are three of my own ideas:
1. Famicom Classic Collection
There were many Famicom games released in Japan, but nowhere else. They were never translated, and so we never got a chance to play them. I would like a translation team somewhere to bring us these games so we can all play the classics we never knew about before. Ideally on a big Gamecube disc, but also perhaps in GBA "Genre" installments:
- Adventure (Famicom Detective Club, Famicom Folk Tales, Time Twist)
- Strategy/RPG (Fire Emblem I & II, Famicom Wars, Mother)
- Action (Riddle of Murasame Castle, Super Mario Bros. 2, Joy Mecha Fight)
- Maybe even a board game edition (Mahjong, Gomoku Narabe, Backgammon).
2. NES Gallery
Game & Watch Gallery gave us a number of classic Game & Watch games, and then a bunch of updated versions. I want to see some updated graphics and maybe play mechanics for Clu Clu Land, Balloon Fight, Excitebike, Devil World, Ice Climber and Urban Champion. Classic and Modern modes... but sadly this dream seems far off thanks to the Classic NES Series.
3. Kid Icarus GC
The main premise behind Kid Icarus is to endure a long climb to the top of an area, shooting enemies, collecting items, and visiting markets and training areas. Then you will end up in mazelike castles where you must battle huge Greek-themed villains. Eventually you take to the skies. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN UPDATED TO 3D YET?
You could visit villages, underground, on the surface of the Earth, or in the skies. You can train and travel about, and then begin the long climb into the mountains, cliffs, etc. where the dungeon awaits you at the top. Inside you solve puzzles and defeat enemies, eventually culminating in a huge boss battle. Beat them and you power up, allowing you to move up to the next region.
Okay, okay, it sounds a lot like the 3D Zelda games with more mountains. But Pit has the ability to jump... okay... now it sounds like 3D Super Mario mixed with 3D Zelda. All I have to say is: What is wrong with that? Sounds awesome to me!
