Nice Stage. i do have to agree that it's nice thatthe transformations actually do something.
I like ground a lot, but mostly for it's look. Hmmm, wonder what electric will look like.
Thought it was going to be the Halberd too.

This stage looks like a blast. Kind of combining the two main Pokemon stages of earlier Smash Bros. (the Pokemon from the original and the Stadium from Melee). Plus it's nice that the transformations do something, too.

Boo. This stage is boring. X(
I really was hoping they'd axe it and try something a bit less, you know, copy-and-pasted out of Melee.

Well, they didn't show the Electric stage because obviously Pichu would cameo in it if he isn't a fighter in Brawl. =P

Skarmory is in the Flying stage, btw. He's between the fan on the far left and the middle fan. He looks like one, but he ain't. So... enjoy his cameo Drifloon is there too, he's the little floating ball to the upper left of the stadium's giant screen. 4th Gen Pokemon in Brawl confirmed, albeit very subtly! (By the way, hey guys. I haven't been posting as much lately because I'm currently volunteering in New Orleans. Barely any free time to go online, and when I do, the internet service here sucks. I do miss speculating and bantering with all y'alls, though.)

Funny thing is, I actually predicted something like this.
Electric, Ice, and yes, Flying (but I called it Wind).
But instead of Ground, I had Steel.
Now if only we can catch a glimpse of that Electric form in the screenshots to come...

To me, the Ground setting really feels like a cop-out, since Ground and Rock are essentially the same element, when viewed outside a Pokémon context. Since we had a Rock setting in Melee, and the Ground setting doesn't appear to have any affect on the battle, it's almost like, "Why?" What would have been the harm in doing something radically different, like a stage based on Fighting types that's full of hazards and pitfalls?
I'm still sorta disappointed overall in this level, but I see the added benefits of the Flying and Ice settings. If it skipped the neutral setting altogether and actually made the Ground setting have some sort of effect, I wouldn't be so negative about it...

True, the game itself is ambiguous when it comes to differentiate Ground from Rock (not to mention alternate media). The most inmediate way to prove it is that fossils are more linked to Rock type than to Ground type with the exception of the desert in Hoenn. But let's wait and see if the Ground terrain has hazards they didn't mention, just like how the Electric terrain wasn't shown at all. I hope that dune can crumble or something.

You do have a point there Johans about the rock/ground similarities. I should point out that in SSBM's Pokemon Stadium the rock stage transformation have a mine cart in the background (I have to admit I only noticed that background element this week when playing the game). Like the fossils in the Pokemon Stadium 2 it conflicts with rock and ground.
Then again maybe that is why the guest pokemon are appearing on the stage. Dugtrio and Cubone are both ground types. They could be there to help reinforce the idea that it is a ground stage.

If the ground stage were to have some difference, it might have earthquakes. That would help distinquish itself from Rock (Earthquake is a ground move )
