I like playing as Lucas more than I thought I would. His attacks have a lot more kick than Ness' do; in fact, aside from having PK Thunder, PK Fire and PSI Magnet as mutual attacks, the pair don't have a whole lot in common at all.
And the above conversation reminds me, I need to finish the basic version of the AnonyFAQ in the next day or so. With most of the info at hand, it's not difficult to throw together, but it seems like there's some secret methods for unlocking characters that have not been made public; my friends and I unlocked Sonic without meeting any of the prerequisites (which are as follows, in spoilertagvision: Either clear Classic Mode with 10 characters (we haven't touched Classic Mode yet), play 300 Brawl matches (we hadn't even had Lucario at that point, and he clocks in at 100 Brawls) or have Sonic join the party in Subspace Emissary (and we haven't even gotten far enough to see him yet in it).) So clearly, there's something else going on that I don't entirely understand. Without any way to research it, though...ahh well.

Does anybody know if the "Play 30/100 hours of Brawls!" challanges are limited to Brawl mode (multiplayer) or the game as a whole?

When Snake takes his box off during his taunt, the box can hurt opponents. . Also, when he eats a piece of food, sometimes he'll yell "Tasty." Genius. He fits right in with the other characters. He's awesome to play as too. On a side note, how do you get the Codec conversations? Does it have to do with his taunt like the special Star Fox taunt on Corneria? EDIT: w00t! 400 posts! I'm a Bubbles now! ;D

You repeat his box taunt on the Shadow Moses stage a few times or so.

I'd like to know, is the thing about playing on Shadow Moses Island 10 times to unlock Snake true? Yes. Thats how I unlocked him. (Note: It may not be 10, but its under 20.) EDIT: The Electroplankton stage is officially named Hanenbow. Anybody got any idea what that means/is?

Okay! I've beaten SSE and unlocked every character! This game is so awesome. One semi spoiler for the road. Shadow Bugs are liquid crystal! The trophy says their extracted from Mr. Game & Watch and can be used to take any form. The meta fiction deepens...

Holy cow. I never really went to IGN.com before this except occasionally, but bow I've been officially scared away from ever going there again. Plus, "It's the same as Melee"?!?!? What a dick.

Brawl really has fleshed out "This World" to an intriguing degree. What I'm curious about is whether anyone's tried to tie this story into the older games using some overactive imagination. One for the fanfic thread, perhaps?

I'm up to "The Great Maze" and I can't beat it. I only have three characters left to unlock now.

Quick thoughts: Ike is AWESOME. I love playing as him. He's a beast in terms of damage, and his fighting style is awesome. Favorite stage thus far? The Summit. It's as cool as I thought it would be. I also have enjoyed Distant Planet, Lylat Cruise, Norfair and a lot of the others (I can't remember them all ;p ). I haven't gotten too far in Adventure Mode...I think I'm at 32%? It's pretty fun though...I do feel that Kirby Super Star comparison was accurate. Music = awesome. More to come.

Today I finally beat tSsE, unlocked every last character, beat a bunch more event matches, and unlocked the rest of the new stages. There's still more to be done though. This game is immense. ;D

Alrighty, since this thread is spoiler tagged, I'm just going to let myself talk about what I've done. In case you wandered into this thread on accident, I'll cover it up regardless. I've unlocked Ness, Marth, Luigi, Falco, Capt. Falcon, Lucario, Snake and Mr. Game & Watch so far. Stage-wise, just Big Blue and Flat Zone 2. I'm about 52% through SSE. Character thoughts: Ike is my favorite character new to Brawl so far. He's really, REALLY strong, and I tend to do well with the heavier characters over the lightweights. His specials are awesome, and I love his Final Smash. A bit tricky to land, but it's powerful. His speed isn't too awful, and his Aether return is a solid return. Wish it had a touch more range...but his Quick Draw helps him a ton on returns. Eruption also is handy since it hits on both sides of him. Capt. Falcon feels more agile than in Melee. His Falcon Dive has more arc to it, and he feels much more loose in the air. It's taken a bit of adjustment to get used to. His knee is a bit harder to land, but I love the slo-mo effect they added to it when it connects. It's awesome. His Falcon Kick seems to be a bit stronger now too. And his Final Smash is also very solid. Has a pretty large hit box next to him. Marth is, according to the strategy guide, the "best" character in the game overall due to their tallies and such. Weird. Anyway, his Shield Breaker is radically different, becoming a lunge rather than Melee's overhead slash. I've had some trouble adjusting to that. He is still very graceful and seems a bit stronger this go-around. Snake is very unique. He fits right into Brawl as his own character. I haven't played as him much yet, but he's very interesting. Lucario is also fun. I think I may prefer him over Mewtwo...but I won't be able to properly compare them since they aren't in the same game together.
I mentioned what stages I liked last time. I've tried out more of them over the last few days, and I have to say that Sakurai and Co. did a great job with the stages this time. I can't say I dislike any of the new ones...well, I don't care for DK's Rumble Falls stage, but that's just me. I didn't like Icicle Mountain in Melee, so I'm not too shocked to find me not liking this one either. It's prettier, though. ^_^All and all, I am completely satsified. It has met my expectations and then some. I am eagerly awaiting tackling all of the other characters, stages and goodies remaining for me.
