No Offense to all those Pokemon Fans, I know that there are heaps, but I played my first ever Pokemon game the other day, Platinum, and I found it, well, really boring. I haven't played it since and am wondering on some of your opinions. The gameplay such as that type of "RPG" is just, well, not fun to play. And yet GameFreak continue on bringing out more and more Pokemon games...

Yeah, how dare Gamefreak continue to bring out games if Snuka doesn't like them?

How odd that some people would find a game fun and another wouldn't?
Personally, I find all RPGs to be, in general, absolutely terrible. The only thing that makes them playable is the Mario touch or personal nostalgia (which is why I still get each generation of Pokemon). I can still put up with certain kind of RPGs, but traditional Final Fantasy-esque RPGs become a chore for me. It's why I can't be excited about Golden Sun.
Honestly, I wish this wasn't the case for me. I've seen a lot of RPGs that looked interesting in terms of setting, but I can't bring myself to want to play them.

Tei the SpiffyThat was a personal opinion, I dignify your style though. I think before I attack and so on. But you seem like a diligent trainer. I apologize if I came across as snappy, that wasn't my intent XD no, I respect your opinion too. Diff'rint strokes and all that! How odd that some people would find a game fun and another wouldn't? I absolutely love Pokemon, but playing it excessively puts me to sleep, literally. XD

It seems the remaking of the second generation of Pokémon is so broad, it's even extending to the existence of related hardware. Remember Pokémon Pikachu 2 GS? Well, a new pedometer device called PokéWalk has just been announced. According to Serebii.net's translation, you can send a Pokémon from HeartGold/SoulSilver to it to gain experience and happiness! I guess the learning and forgetting of moves would work like in Pokémon daycares. What about stat points? And could happiness evolution occur inside the device? EDIT: Added video with sound

So anyone heard anything of a solid release date? All Bulbapedia seems to have is Autumn 2009 for JP, but that's pretty soon now to still have the date listed as a season I would of thought. Also whilst I thought that peripherel was a bit gimmiky at first, it would be probably quite handy, so when your somewhere you can't play your game then it would be easy to just have it in your pocket. That said I wonder about how many batteries this device takes, or how long they last fully charged.

If the games are intentionally released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Gold & Silver, then the release date could be in November.

I guess the learning and forgetting of moves would work like in Pokémon daycares. What about stat points? And could happiness evolution occur inside the device? EDIT: Added video with sound IGN has confirmed that PokeWalk is being bundled with HG/SS in Japan! "You can transfer a single Pokemon from Heart Gold and Soul Silver into this device, carrying your little friend with you when you go out. As you walk, the internal Pokemon gains experience and grows happier.
Additionally, the PokeWalker converts your steps into watts, a currency that can be used to catch wild Pokemon and shop for tools. These can then be sent back into Heart Gold and Soul Silver."I swear that above image is the same one they must have used for Personal Trainer: Walking/Walk with Me, but then again the same tech from the Activity Meter and the infrared sensor in the DS card is probably in there too. I have to that this is a brilliant idea, I remember that WoW and TWEWY both have systems of gaining experience when not playing the game but this takes it to the next level. The more active you when not playing the game, the more experience you get! It's a great combernation! Say some kid is not allowed to take his/her DS/game to school, he can take PokeWalk and build up experience by using it when not playing the HG/SS game. The only bad thing I can see from this is people (aka outside of Japan) getting multiple PokeWalk's and the hook up to machine that spams the pedometer to high levels without any walking. No Offense to all those Pokemon Fans, I know that there are heaps, but I played my first ever Pokemon game the other day, Platinum, and I found it, well, really boring. Yeah the franchise does need some improvements . . .

You know the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"?
Well, Nintendo's making what they call in financial circles "a massive crapton of money" off Pokemon, so they're very unlikely to change the formula much.
And the whole gameplay IS turn-based random battles. That's the very basic gameplay. Take that away and you have a spinoff. That's like taking away Mario's jump or Link's small keys.

I actually heard the release for Japan is in September. The guy that revealed the Pokewalk about a week before the official announcement was the guy that said September.

Hmm... Leon is right as always. It's on the official site, even. Though they don't show an exact day of the month.
The last Pokémon game that was released in September in Japan, was released in March in America (Platinum).

I didn't think there would be a remake of G/S but now there is, I wonder if they're finally going to confirm the rumour of Silver being Giovanni's son, or if Giovanni will even appear in the game. The pics look good
I only just realised they're called Neo Rocket Society Grunts. Does that mean that this team rocket will have more of a story, and the faceless 'top executive' boss will have an actual name? I hope so...
